Our family member was here for years until she need full time nursing care. The management and staff were caring, patient, and treated residents with love and tried to make it a home . They fed residents well and never a complaint in years we was there random many times a week !!!!

We toured Laurel Oaks Retirement Living. It was more of people living in a home instead of an assisted living place. It was dark. My mom was legally blind, so it was going to make it very difficult for her to see and get around. They also did not have activities and things like that. It was assisted living, but it was very limited. It was just a house. Some of the residents were sitting on the front porch, some of them were sitting on the back porch, and some of them were watching TV. I only met one staff, and she was very nice and very helpful.

There are only 2 bathrooms for 9-12 elderly people. Showers are encouraged only once a week. Beverages must stay at dining table and not allowed in tv area. Toilet paper needs to be carried back and forth from rooms due to a tenant unravels the rolls. If you do tour, be sure to get all details on any type of contracts, and if you sign up, be sure to get a copy. I feel it is more of an adult daycare. They have one person to assist residents, which work 6 hours. Being 9 residents, that probably works most days.

Laurel Oaks has a very friendly environment, a competent staff and good food, and it's affordable. They have daily exercise, play games, and, of course, watch TV.
