We've placed a deposit at Cedar Hill and we'll be moving my cousin in within the next 30 days. It's a smaller community. It is very nice and very personable. They have nice grounds, and they have a common room that has a pool table and a large screen TV. They have a beauty parlor on-site. They do a lot of get-togethers with the residents and they do a lot of field trips where they take them out to do things in the community. They're very helpful. The dining area is very nice. There is a little kitchenette in the room where she will be, but they encourage them to eat all of their meals in the dining area.

We toured Cedar Hills Senior Living. My mother-in-law has progressive dementia and at this place, all of the rooms were upstairs. It was just a long hall with doors on each side and the doors are always closed. My mother-in-law likes to see people and be with people, so she would have to get into an elevator and go downstairs to be in the dining room or the living room, which I don’t think she would be able to do. Of course, she could ring for a nurse to take her, but sometimes she might not know she could that. That was one of the reasons we didn’t care for it. The rooms were upstairs and all of the dining room and the activities were downstairs. She would have to get on elevator to go downstairs. There was a lot of activities going on. It really seemed nice, but when we were taken upstairs to see the rooms, we just knew that wouldn’t work for us.

This facility was very clean and the patients were very active. Several of the patients were up and playing cards or walking the halls. The care in this facility was very good. Many times I went into this facility and the patients were sitting with one of the staff members or walking down the hall talking. One lady was having a bad day and the staff took her out for a walk because she asked her to take he out. I loved the personal attention given at this facility.
