My aunt is in Good Samaritan Society - Sioux Falls Village ALC. She had surgery, and her memory had gotten so bad. She was starting to wander, so we needed a place where she would be safe, and they had an opening. They are a wonderful place. My mother-in-law was in there, and I've also had a cousin in there, and they all loved it. They have a lot of activities. It's very clean. They have bingo. They have all sorts of activities. On Saturday, we went to see her, and she was down at the movies. They have a chapel. They have movies in the chapel. They have puzzles, activities to get together, and devotions. The staff has been so pleasant, so sweet and helpful, just a few times that I've been there. The dining is right across from the chapel. It's beautiful and it's very spacious. It looks really comfortable and homey. We have applied for Medicare. They are very accommodating because her Medicaid is still in the works, and they still agree to take her until Medicaid is accepted.

After hour staff seemed to be more focus on phone time and social media escalades versus patient care.

My father had been to Good Samaritan before. I chose that too because it was close to where I live. They had a garden and sitting area that was very nice. The facility appeared clean and very nice. I found it very satisfactory. It was bright and cheery. They were just very nice, plus, they took people with Alzheimer’s. I ate lunch there and it was very good. I thought the rooms were nicely sized, and you could decorate if you wanted to. They had activities, but my father was not interested in anything.

My mother spent several years in the assisted living area. Everything was top notch, her apartment, the food, activitie and the staff was friendly and caring. We were very impressed.
