White Oak Manor - Lancaster

We are planning to move my mother into White Oak Manor Lancaster. The location and proximity to my house is the reason why I chose it. The place was very clean and nice. The people seemed nice, too. Most of the living spaces were shared rooms. They only had ten private rooms, and they all seemed very nice. They had two enclosed courtyards. I heard the residents wanted to go outside, so the staff didn't have to worry about them wandering off. They also had a front area where they could go out and sit.

My sister-in-law was at White Oak Manor - Lancaster. She was there for three months. I don't think they take really good care of their senior citizens. I'm sure they try hard, but it's probably more lack of help. Their menu was absolutely horrible. For example, my sister-in-law got her dinner one day and it was a slice of bread with pimento cheese spread on it. And they never knew what kind of meat they were having. They always called everything mystery food. Some of the people were nice. When my sister-in-law was there, the idea was to get her on her feet and moving. But I had to go in there and have a one-on-one meeting with all the nurses and with the crew and ask them why she wasn't getting rehab.

My experience with this faculity was beyond pleasant. My church choir thought it be a great thing for us to go and sing christmas carols and give them baskets. This was my first time visiting, just walking in had a home feeling to it. The staff were so welcoming and helpful to the seniors that lived there. It was so clean and smelled wonderful, literally the floor was so clean that you could eat off it. The seniors were so welcoming as well they really enjoy our singing and loved their christmas baskets. I had so much fun seeing their faces light up when giving them their baskets and also seeing them sing-along. Us coming to visit really put them in the christmas spirit, just knowing there are other people that aren't relatively kin to them coming to see them to put smiles on their beautiful faces. It was a joy.
