"From my first contact with the Hillside staff, when I was gathering information about facilities, I felt cared for and at ease. My questions & concerns were addressed in an empathetic way, and my calls were returned. My experience occurred during the COVID crisis, and the staff made every effort to maintain visiting in some fashion... from visits on the patio, to window visits when it got cold outside, then eventually indoor visits in the common area. They really did everything to keep their residents (my mom) safe. During the window visits (which were difficult for my 89 year old mom with cognitive issues), a staff member would stay with her, helping to facilitate the conversation and making it more meaningful for my mom.... it made a difference for which I was grateful. My mom was well cared for... she was always dressed in clean matching outfits, shoes or slippers on, her hair was neat, and her nails were clipped. She gained some needed weight there! During visiting with mom, a staff member or 2 would join us for a story or to give my mom some love, I would well-up with gratitude! In addition to her physical & emotional well-being, they were on top of her medical conditions. Being a fall risk, they took every step possible to reduce her falls, even having her wear a small monitor to alert them of her movements. They always kept me well informed. Although I never got to see her room, due to COVID, the atmosphere I did see was pleasant, clean, and calm. Making the decision to move a loved one to a facility is never an easy one, but the staff at Hillside Manor (Oliver Rd) made the transition easier & less frightening, and I will always be grateful for the genuine care they gave to my mom, and the peace of mind they gave to those that love her. "My mother is in Mt. Macrina Manor. It's very homey, clean, and bright. The people are kind. They answered our questions. They're informative and helpful. They seem caring about my mom. I don't know if it was an actual gym or not, but I've seen workout equipment, and they have nice dayrooms with activities."

"My uncle was at Lafayette Manor. It was terrible. It was filthy. The food was terrible. My uncle didn't eat half of the stuff they brought him. The place smelled like urine. They didn't clean it. They lost his clothes with his name on them. When I pulled him out of there, they couldn't find half of his clothes. My uncle was in a room with another guy, and the other guy kept giving the workers trouble all the time. Like the TV belonged to the place, and this guy would try to take control of the TV and kept saying, 'It's my TV.' So they moved my uncle out of that room into another room. I didn't see any activity there. They need to improve pretty much everything."

"My parents have been in 4 different care homes this year as their care needs have continued to get more complicated. Some have looked much prettier than Peroni's and some have cost more. But none have provided the exemplary care that Peroni's has. Tony, the owner, runs this place with his heart and personally sets the standard for a high level of care. I've been to places where the staff and sales people pretend to have relationships with residents, but the caring relationship here seems very real. Mom is happier than she's been in a long time, and it's because the people here treat her very well."

"The staff at Cherry Tree was alright, I guess. The rooms are all semi-private, and I am sharing a room with another person. The food was good and they had different activities like bingo. They must have private rooms. "

"My uncle is in a nursing home down in Uniontown, it's called Uniontown Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. They're really good with me. My uncle, on the other hand, isn't too happy, but I think that's because he's locked down due to Governor Wolf's restrictions. His room looks basic. The outside is nice, it looks like they have nice lawn care. That's all I saw since I had to go into a corner cubbyhole type of thing to actually see him during window visits. I talk to my uncle regularly and he says the food was cold; he likes everything scalding hot though. They don't have activities now, they've been on lockdown since someone tested positive. They monitor his medicines because he has diabetes and complications with that. He's also an amputee. He only has one leg. When we drop stuff off for my uncle I come in contact with one nurse at the door and they're usually polite. He has a case manager there and that person has contacted me twice and had conversations with me. They seem polite and my uncle hasn't really complained about them."

"Twin Oaks Home Care provided in home care to my 93 year old mother who has alzheimer's before she had to enter a nursing home for skilled nursing care. I was previously with another home care agency but switched to Twin Oaks because of the lack of care my mother was receiving from them. The Twin Oaks home care health aides were excellent with my mother. One thing that impressed me with Twin Oakes was that they would rotate sending only two different women to care for my mother. My mother was receiving nine hours of care a day, six days a week. When I told Twin Oaks that I was very pleased that they only sent two different women, they told me the reason they do this is because alzheimer patients react better having the same familiar person take care of them. The other agency would rotate sending six different women The caregivers from Twin Oaks had extreme patience with my mother and would do activities with her to help with her memory. They kept my mother extremely clean and I never experienced a urine order on my mother, but I did with the other agency. The women were always on time and my mother looked forward to them coming. They not only took care of her health needs, but also interacted with her by reading to her, playing games, and listening to her talk about the past. They never hesitated to call me at work if my mother was having a problem. I could leave for work in the morning without a worry knowing that my mother was being well cared for. When my mother would become agitated and upset, they would sit and hold her hand and give her reassurance. They treated my mother with respect and went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and safe. especially when she was having a bad day. "My wife moved to Generations Elder Care. There's only about 18 to 20 people in the home. It's just a personal care home. They're the only ones that offered to take her. She had been diagnosed with bipolar (type III), and had some pretty severe reactions. They keep the place nice and clean, and they've been great. I haven't tasted the food, but my wife said it's pretty good. They have a patio that the residents can use. There's a lot of really fancy places, but this is not fancy. This is a basic place, actually. It's well maintained, and the staff is great, which is what I was looking for."

"We placed my mom here December 2019. She was struggling with senility and could no longer live alone. After visiting several local facilities, we chose Kings. It impressed us that it looked like a home. Many of the higher priced homes in the area looked like a hallway that simply had a row of doors that led to the rooms. At Kings, the staff is right there near the residents. They aren't far away at all if your loved one needs help. Their staff is so attentive and caring to everyone. My mom loved to eat and these ladies are excellent cooks and cook from scratch. This means so much to the residents. My mom did pass away in October. She had Hospice there also to help but I had peace of mind that she did not die alone. I have health problems and couldn't be there with her. A friend of mine has a father who was in a local nursing home paying thousands a month. He was not getting the care he needed and kept ending up in the hospital. I told him about Kings. He went the next day and his father moved in a few days later. His Dad is very happy now and I'm glad I could recommend Kings to them. You will not be disappointed if you choose Kings for your loved one."

"Not impressed. My mother was hospitalized for dehydration, fell and broke her leg, no fresh fruit or vegetables, "homemade" was from a box, mix, or can. Dominoes Pizza was served for dinner the first night I visited. Two patients were completely immobilized and couldn't move from their chairs without assistance even to move a wheelchair. "

"Connellsville was very poor. It was unclean and totally negligent as far as the care of the patients. They needed a complete overhaul as far as the place, the staff, everything. "
