Twin Oaks Home Care provided in home care to my 93 year old mother who has alzheimer's before she had to enter a nursing home for skilled nursing care. I was previously with another home care agency but switched to Twin Oaks because of the lack of care my mother was receiving from them. The Twin Oaks home care health aides were excellent with my mother. One thing that impressed me with Twin Oakes was that they would rotate sending only two different women to care for my mother. My mother was receiving nine hours of care a day, six days a week. When I told Twin Oaks that I was very pleased that they only sent two different women, they told me the reason they do this is because alzheimer patients react better having the same familiar person take care of them. The other agency would rotate sending six different women The caregivers from Twin Oaks had extreme patience with my mother and would do activities with her to help with her memory. They kept my mother extremely clean and I never experienced a urine order on my mother, but I did with the other agency. The women were always on time and my mother looked forward to them coming. They not only took care of her health needs, but also interacted with her by reading to her, playing games, and listening to her talk about the past. They never hesitated to call me at work if my mother was having a problem. I could leave for work in the morning without a worry knowing that my mother was being well cared for. When my mother would become agitated and upset, they would sit and hold her hand and give her reassurance. They treated my mother with respect and went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and safe. especially when she was having a bad day. I highly recommend Twin Oaks for in home health care. Charlotte Diehl
