My brother lives in a nursing home. It is Valley View Home in Altoona. It is pretty nice. They got a lot of activities and stuff going on. They have all different kinds, like in the summer time they take them to places and to ballgames. The staff is pretty good, and I know some of the people who work in there. Everything seems to be alright so far. They are just in a room. It has two people in a room, and they have a TV for each person. It is a pretty nice place and pretty clean. The people are always friendly there, and my brother is doing alright.

My experiences with this facility have been fair at best. When my great grandmother lived here, she was as comfortable as she could have been. She often complained of the food being bland but she had no other issues. The staff was friendly and seemed to be enough of them to handle the large number of residents. This facility also does physical therapy for the county which I had to utilize once. The care I was given was fair at best. They were not able to help much after the first three sessions and I was later moved to another therapy office in the Altoona area. Overall the facility is clean and well staffed with friendly employees, I just would not recommend any type of physical therapy at this facility.

My experience with this provider has been mixed - I believe they genuinely care about the individuals in their care, but I feel that the nursing and care staff are understaffed and unable to properly tend to each patient as a result of the magnitude of their duties. My grandmother doesn't get the attention she should all of the time because of how many patients remain. I do think they care for her needs, her medications, her mental stimulation, and her happiness as best they can. The amenities are decent enough considering the budget, and there are lenient policies on family visits, leaving the facility for short periods of time (such as holiday meals, etc.)
