I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Please do NOT send your loved one to their memory care unit. If your loved one declines and needs extra care, they will be asked to leave. I witnessed this happen to 7 residents. My aunt had been there 2 years and when she needed extra help, she was told to leave. This is very traumatic for a person with dementia.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend is at the memory care of The Inn at Walnut Trail. It's a very nice setup with gardens on the outside, it's very clean, it's very new and very pretty. The rooms are very new, well-kept, and newly painted. The staffs were very friendly, they each came and introduced themselves to her and who will be taking care of her, so she had an idea of who would be who. I thought that was very nice. They're also very nice to her so I didn't have any problems with who's going to be working with her. They had all kinds of activities, they do rumba, and different mind games like soduko, word search, and crosswords. There are also exercises for them, dancing, they have different people come in like singers, they take them out on field trips, and they go out to eat. They have a variety of different things. They have their own chefs there, the food is done three times a day. Everyone comes out of their room to eat, they don't stay in their rooms. They're kept busy during the day and they only go back to their rooms for rest periods and to sleep. So they're keeping them active all day. The food always smells wonderful when you go in. I like that it always smelled nice, clean, and fresh in there.

I visited this facility

The Inn at Walnut Trail was a new facility, and it was very nice. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very nice, very professional, and very cooperative. The amenities all looked very nice. They had a nice common area, and the rooms were a good size, very nice, and very bright. They also had a nice outdoor area.

The facility is beautiful and always clean! The Staff is so caring and really went the extra mile to ensure our loved one was well cared for especially during the last few days she was she was here on earth. We were so impressed with the room, all the activities they planned weekly and how the community interacted as a whole. Not many places have a bird aviary, a pub and movie theater. Having an in-house doctor really helped out because we didn't have to continually run for simple testing. Overall-wonderful expierance.

The Care at this facility was heartbreaking and incompetent. They took months if not years off of my Father's life by ignoring my pleas to test and treat him for a UTI. We were ignored and ridiculed. By the time he finally got an antibiotic it was too late and his kidneys failed within days. Do NOT trust them with anyone you love.

I visited this facility

The tour at The Inn at Walnut Trail was extremely informative. The staff members were very friendly. The people are saying hello to you when you walk by. The residents were out and about, seemed very happy, very well kept for, and seemed like they were having a great time. Everything is really kind of top-notch. It's only been there for about two years, so it's still extremely new. Everything is very fresh, up-to-date, pleasant, happy, and sunny. You just feel good when you're inside. This is a one-floor plan, which is crucial in my opinion. If I had to pick between, I would probably pick a one-floor facility versus a multi-level facility. It was really, really great. We saw the dining room, which was very large and open. Everything was very open, which was nice. I guess that is what gives it's big, bright, sunny feel. It was very homey. They have a pub room where they do happy hour. They have card games. They have a place to sit and hang out with friends. We saw their movie theater room, where they host big events. They have an activity room where they do different crafts. They have a chapel, which was very lovely. They have a beauty parlor where they have someone come in twice a week to do haircuts for men and women. They have a rehab room. They can help you not only with the physical side. but also cognitive if needed. We took a tour of some different floor plans that they offer the residents.

I visited this facility

We went to The Inn at Walnut Trail. Everything was amazing there. It was really beautiful. The people were above and beyond friendly and welcoming. They were proud to work for the company they worked for. The facility was gorgeous. This one had a little chapel, which I thought was charming. The outside patio area was just fabulous. The decor was beautiful. They had a cute little bistro, they had a little general store that the residents could purchase birthday cards or little teeny gift-type things that gave them a little feeling of independence. They had buses to take them to activities and all that stuff.
