"It was very difficult to have my husband admitted to the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas. I just want to say the love, compassion, helpfulness, dedication by everyone (office staff, medical staff, kitchen staff, maintenance staff, and even the residents) were beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this facility. Everyone treats the residents as "heros", which they are. On behalf of my friends and family, on January 26, 2024, a beautiful, mahogany, hand carved anchor by a local artist was dedicated to the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas Veterans Home, McAllen, Texas, in memory of my husband. . A special thank you to all that donated to make this dedication possible. It is displayed in the hallway right outside the chapel. "My aunt is at The Heights of Alamo. She's doing physical therapy there. It's fairly new. It's nice. She's been there for about 40 days, but this isn't her first time there. This is her second time. They're nice staff. It's a really good place except for just a few things. I did ask them to replace my aunt's TV, and the things since she got there. Other than that, they're nice and listen to you on certain issues like medications, but not so much for material things like the TV. You can't watch it because it's green and they haven't replaced it for you. Other than that, everything's good. They're friendly and they care for her. They feed her well. It's nice, really clean, fancy, upscale, and modern. The presentation they have is nice. The food is good. My aunt eats it. They have activities. They go into an activity room and they color and there's an activity management there, and she's walking around to each table and asking out what's needed, material-wise, to color with or paint. There are several other aides there assisting. They have TVs and they have a living room where you can go and take your family member to and chitchat or you can go outside. It's a pretty deluxe place. If you have to pay privately, they're a little pricy, but my aunt's insurance is covering it."

"I'm at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for rehab service. It's clean. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is good. They have a TV in the room. The grounds and the outside look well maintained."

"When I went to visit my grandma the facilities seemed very good. The staff that was there was very helpful and quickly provided assistance to me when I arrived and took me to where my grandma was staying. The staff seemed to take very good care of the people in the facility and I saw no problems with how they handled the patients care while I was there. I talked with my grandma and asked how they had been treating her and she said that everything was great and she had no complaints that the staff were very friendly and even chatted with her every day. The activities they provided were engaging and kept them active the food provided was good and the patients seemed to like it there. I left with an impression that she was getting very well taken care of and that she was not bored and had plenty of company while there. "

"My mother suffered two intracranial bleeds from a fall and we took her to Retama Raymondville for rehabilitation and after being told at hospital she probably would not make it through the night, my mother after 39 days of loving dedicated care by all staff my mother walked out back to her home.
