Nursing Home Communities in Corpus Christi, TX

"An old friend of my family is currently residing at Holmgreen Center. She has been there for about a year now and is very happy living there. I try to visit her every so often since I just moved into town. She is always well groomed and the room is clean and clean smelling. She also tells me she enjoys the activities at the center that they have for all the residents. It's mostly bingo and board games, but that's what she's into. Over all the staff are friendly, kind and responsive. If you ask them something, they give you their full attention and try to help you to the best of their ability. The only concern she tells me is that the mattresses are horrible! And in all honesty, to me they feel like rocks. I would still recommend the facility to friends and my family, but I'd warn them to bring a mattress and comforter. "

"Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital was a rehab hospital while mother got her strength back. When my dad was alive, he had been treated there, and this is my mother’s second trip there. I like the staff, their goal setting, and making sure that she was not still in a wheelchair and that she was back on a walker. "

"We have resided at Mirador for 3 years. After several years of visiting retirement communities in Austin, Texas, we found this to be the most affordable Live Care community We live in an Independent Living apartment and love the activities and access to interesting explorations of the Corpus Christi coastal area. Big selling point for us....20 minutes to the beach which makes a morning walk on the beach a part of our life and love to watch the hatchling turtle releases at the National Seashore. "

"Westwood Care Center (Trisun Care Center-Westwood) was a nice place with friendly and helpful staff. The bedroom was a decent size with a bathroom and a closet. The dining area was a pretty big, open area. "

"The Corpus Christi Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was very clean. It's fairly new. The amenities are just the usual ones for a facility of that type. The person we met with was very knowledgeable of the law, and what we're dealing with here is Medicare. She was very straightforward with us. It's close to my home."

"This facility has come a long way since my mom first moved in. The customer service has definitely improved. There is ALWAYS something going on for the residents to do. My mom is so happy with the fun activities planned for residents. We are happy with our staff. "

"I have visited my grandmother multiple times and every time I have been there, it has seemed that she is doing well with her stay. She struggles from day to day with her rehab because with her Dementia, she is unable to remember the exercises and what she has done through the rehab. The staff seems to be very nice every time that I walk through the halls. The facility overall is very clean and to me would be one of the top nursing home facilities in the Corpus Christi area. Although we would like her to be able to come home, we know she is in good hands up at Wooldridge Place. The nursing home is very good about scheduling daily events in order to keep the people staying at the home happy and occupied. Overall, I would pick this place over any other place for any of my loved ones as a place to rehab or live in the event that I can't take care of them for myself. "

"Trisun holds about 25 people and has a very cheerful and warm atmosphere. They have all their meals in the common dining room, but I think they can have them in their rooms too, as they have kitchenettes if they want to fix something themselves. There are quite a few activities, especially for the women. They have makeup techniques, they play dominos and checkers, they have a walkers group, they have church service on Wednesdays, I believe, and they have Catholic communion on Sundays. Everyone is quite friendly. The cleanliness is first rate. The staff is very friendly and caring. "

"I like Windsor Calallen. It's clean and they seemed to be attentive in taking care of my dad. They offer different activities weekly like bingo and karaoke nights. They also got a place where you could go outside."

"I have been visiting this home for three years. The improvements and quality of care I have seen over the past 18 months are exciting. This home always smells fresh and clean. The residents look happy and clean and seem to enjoy many activities. The community living space is clean and inviting. I also visit the locked unit of the facility and never hear crying or yelling. There is a lot on one on one attention given to residents. In the past 12 months I have seen very little turnover which I would attribute to a strong management team. Lots of happy faces here and certainly worth checking out for rehab or a permanent placement."

"The facilities are very cleaner then expected of most nursing homes. The staff is super nice and is always helpful with my grandfather. Jessica, Rebecca, Brandy, Allison and Angel are all VERY good nurses. Whenever my grandmother calls to talk to him or cannot make it to see him they take the phone to him or go out of their way to help or tell her what is going on with him. However, occasionally when I go to visit there is a strong stench of feces from some of the patients and I cannot tell if that is because the patient would not allow the nurse to change them, they have not gotten to them yet, or they have forgotten about them. Some of the staff does not care however, I do not any names but they have placed my grandfather in a broken chair before and my boyfriend and I have fixed the chair for them and when my grandmother went again he was in yet another broken chair. When she asked them to fix it they said that it was broken they could not, so she showed them how to fix it and requested that he no longer be placed in the broken chairs. I do not know if that request was fulfilled yet though. Overall the facility is a nice place and my grandmother is happy with it so I am also happy with it. "
