"My mother moved into Parker Nursing and Rehab Center. It seems like they are pretty attentive, but the rooms are not very big. The staff has been pretty good. They seem pretty friendly and everything, and they seem like they care about the residents. When I was sitting there I could see stuff on the floor. The building is old and needs a little bit of updating. It seems like they take care of the residents there. My mother is kind of stubborn, and they try to get her to do stuff, but they don't push her or get nasty or anything."

"My mom is at Pavilion of Ottawa. It is a very clean place. The nurses and staff are really nice there. They have an exercise facility and they have therapy there. They take them out on their doctors' trips. The staff members are very friendly. They have bingo and other games with the people."

"the home provide great care, medical physical and mental, The facilities is older, but is in process of updating. The social activities are good. They take patents out on trips like to walmart, the ice cream shop and they have a lovely gazebo outside. The aides are a God send, they are all very kind The rooms are little warm in the summer but they are working on that. "

"I visited and noted that the facility seemed understaffed and I found it difficult to get assistance and help. One young lady was particularly rude. Perhaps they were understaffed but she seemed stressed out and angry. Not a good place for her to work."

"Heritage Manor was in the town my mother-in-law was living in. And it's also where most of her friends and her relatives live that would come to visit her. But it wasn't close to us. It was 5 hours away. The place was very nice. It was newly remodeled and the people were extremely friendly. Everybody was doing their job. We had a flurry of people around us when we moved her in. They were just very helpful and very nice. They encouraged her to get up and get walking. She liked the food. I was really impressed with it, especially since it's in a small town. But everything went so fast. Three days later she was back in the hospital where she died. "

"My friend lives in Goldwater Care and the care they provide has been pretty good. Meds are delivered to her and then insulin shots every so often. They're on the ball. She's in an individual room, but she has to walk quite a ways to get her meals. She's at the far wing of and it seems like it's a quarter-mile walk to get there. The facility is more institutionalized. They don't have that homey touch to it. It's kind of like a sterile environment. It looks nice on the outside, but it's kind of cramped on the inside."

"Evenglow Inn was very small and more like a house setting, very homey, very comfortable, and very nice. They only had 26 residents, so it's very personal. They had the people out at tables doing activities. It was cheaper than others. The staff has her dog there every day, and the residents love him and they enjoy that. They're very friendly, very kind, and very good. It was very nice and clean, but a little older facility. We would've taken it if they had the opening. It was a locked community, but there's a little more freedom because they had a courtyard in the middle that my aunt would've been able to go out and walk around. It's right next to a cornfield, and it seemed very secure."

"Was in rehab there for three months. Suzanne D. is a great administrator. Had some great nurses and CNA’s but of course some not so great. Having been a patient in two other nursing homes, I was surprised that the rooms weren’t private. Overall a nice facility. Think pay scale could be better and pay could be based on their production. "I visited Meadows Mennonite Home's skilled nursing but for memory care. Overall, it is very good. It's a little dated, but they have a newer part. The staff members that I interacted with seemed very nice. They have sitting areas, one outside and one inside. The beds were like hospital beds, but the residents can set the room and decorate it up how they want to. They also take Medicaid."

"My grandma spent her last days here. Everyone at Regency was attentive, kind and so helpful with my 95yo grandma. She was legally blind and didn’t hear the best, and all the staff spoke to her and would explain exactly what they were doing. They took amazing care of her until her last day. Thank you Regency staff for doing God’s work!"

"My uncle is at Arcadia Care of Morris. He was discharged from the hospital and transferred over there for OT, PT, and respiratory therapy. At first, it was fine. When he was in the hospital, he was being treated for C. diff, and when he was transferred over to Arcadia, he was still on antibiotics. He completed those antibiotics while he was still doing OT and PT, so they had to do it in his room because of the C. Diff. He couldn't be outside the room, and he had restrictions. We were okay with that, and we understood that. They were monitoring his diet and everything else. However, Medicare Advantage then just said that they're done and not paying anymore, and things started going downhill from there, as far as my opinion of Arcadia. They told my uncle that he had to be out on Christmas Day, which was impossible because he had nowhere to go. At that point, that's when he started getting charged per diem. Another thing was that he was recovering from the C. diff and was having little victories because he didn't have diarrhea anymore but they served him pizza, and he went right back to diarrhea and everything else. I thought about what they were thinking. He was recovering from diarrhea, so the last thing he needed was spicy and acidic food. All they had for him for a restricted diet was low-sodium food because he also has a cardiac condition. He was complaining about how bland the food was, so they gave him pizza, and that sent him back. I would have to admit, despite the issues that I have with them, my uncle's room is cleaned. Going from the lobby to his room, which is pretty far, I didn't smell anything funky or anything like that. The building itself is clean, so kudos to their housekeeping crew. The other staff members and the CNAs are friendly, too. They always give a smile and a good morning or good afternoon, so there are no complaints there. However, when I actually had to deal with my uncle's nursing staff, I was not impressed at all. Yesterday, I called and left three voicemails to try and find out my uncle's billing and treatment and there were no callbacks from them. I'm going out there today to try and get to the bottom of this. I even went through his primary physician to see if we could get a direct admission into the hospital to get my uncle out of there and get proper treatment and proper billing. I don't know if they are billing him correctly, and I can't get a straight answer, so that concerns me a lot. I also called to find out about his vitals, I got no callback, so I do not have a high opinion of them at all right now. The building itself is clean, but according to my uncle, the food is terrible. I understand that his diet is low-sodium, but he also says the food is served cold, so they don't keep the food warm. They could have at least served it warm."

"Our mother was a resident there for several months before passing, and I would recommend this facility above all others in the area. The care was excellent, kind and caring. The meals were great. Each staff member was friendly from the nursing staff to the kitchen staff. The facility was clean and never had a disagreeable smell. Kitchen staff was always accommodating with food requests. Even though mom did not participate in activities, there were many from bingo, to art, music and church services. We would call the staff daily and all of the nurses were very helpful when providing us information. We loved all of moms nurses, they were wonderful. Her CNAs were also very kind and attentive to her needs."

"El Paso nursing home is a very nice and well appointed place to stay. The rooms are very clean and they have maids clean the place daily. The rooms are fairly spacious and you can have a t.v. or internet if you choose. There are many activities you can do there from ordering out from Mcdonalds to playing video games. In addition you can order out from many other good restaurants for dinner every night at 5:00 p.m. The food there is actually pretty good. They have a healthy menu and you can get doubles on your tray if you get a doctor's order. You also can smoke there if you want to. There are smoke breaks frequently throughout the day where you get to go outside into a nice patio area and smoke. You can also play basketball or join one of the many groups they have available. There is a full nursing staff there and you get to visit with a doctor monthly. They will help you take your medications and make sure your are in good shape. There is also a nice den area where you can watch t.v. The people there are nice and you can find good friends to associate with. Overall this is a very good establishment if you are looking for a nursing home in Illinois. "
