I visited all of Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall, beginning with independent living as well as assisted living. They have the full panoply of potential support. One of the things that's interesting about them is that because it's a continuing care facility, if you need just some minor help, you can layer on that minor help and remain in the independent living milieu environment. One of the things they do is they make the continuum of care very, very easy. I give them high marks for that. If it's just a one-dimensional offering, I'm not interested. I didn't find anything that they could improve on. Should I decide when it's time to begin my journey, these folks are number one on my list. They have a wide variety of amenities available. They have excellent physical fitness capabilities, and I'm a workout nut. Right there on their campus, they have assisted living, skilled nursing care, and dementia care. They've got the whole basket covered, so they are very, very attractive to me. I felt like I belonged there. They were interested in me. They were interested in understanding what I'm looking for, and they made me feel like I could easily be part of their community and part of their family. They made you feel, even while you were just in the beginning, that you belonged there and that you could be family. There were multiple restaurants offering multiple kinds of cuisine, and it did not seem stilted or one-directional, but I did not get a chance to sample the food. They were just top drawer all the way around. I would not even be considering them were they not. They were very inviting. They showed me around to the various restaurants. They showed me where the exercise facilities are. They showed me an empty apartment suite, and it was all very, very well done.

My father-in-law is in Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall. It's new, it's a happy place, and it's clean. They are also very efficient, professional, and very careful. They have a lot of rules and regulations because of COVID, so we couldn't ask for a better place for him to be staying. It's extremely nice. The only reason we are looking at this other place is because we live nearby, and we wanted him to move closer to us. Because of COVID, there were a lot of things that were closed. For example, when they have any staff or aides coming in, they shut down the dining facilities for them. There is not much socializing because of COVID, which is no fault of theirs, that's just them being careful. When they do shut down the dining room, he orders from the comfort of his own room. I would say the food is fine. For the value, I think he pays about $4700, so if you're able to afford it, then it's a really nice place to live. I think he's getting a good value for what he pays.

I stayed at Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall. Everything was new, modern, and very nice. I had a one-bedroom apartment there. The bedroom and the bathroom were very big. The shape was very convenient, and it had a huge terrace. The food was not that great, but everything was very nice. The staff was nice, and the maid who came every week was very good. They had a room for exercises and yoga, activities in the evening, a beauty salon, a swimming pool with exercise classes, and a smaller pool with warm water and a jet for massages. They had poker and games like bingo. However, the management was not good and many workers left.

Carolina Bay is a very beautiful place. The place is brand new and beautiful. The apartments and the pool are gorgeous too. I have a friend who is living there, and she is very happy and pleased. All the people seem extremely happy. However, the food is nothing to write home about; it is mediocre.

I liked Carolina Bay; I liked that everything was inside, and you didn't need to go outside if you did not want to. The facilities there were fantastic, the apartment was lovely, and the food served seemed really nice. I would feel like I'm living in a resort if I went there. You have a full kitchen, and they give you an allowance a month for the different restaurants that they have there. They have a market, they have a fine dining place, and they have a pub. The have a hair salon, a resort, a pool, a hot tub, and exercise places with trainers. They would take you to different shows and things that are going on in Wilmington.

Carolina Bay is great, beautiful, and all inclusive, so you have everything, like utilities and food for the month. The food deal was a little high, though. It was included in the rent for one person but for the second person, you have to pay extra. They have indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a hairdresser, a gym, and three eating places. Nearby, there are doctors. They have pretty much everything you need.

I was very impressed with what Carolina Bay had to offer. The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms were very open and very modern. They have a full fitness center, several restaurants, and lots of options. It's got a lot of open green walking spaces and things around it.
