My father has dementia and lived alone, so I needed to find a place for him where he would be safe. I have been so pleased with Westwood Commons. I was so surprised that after only two days of living there, as we walked through, so many of the staff members knew him by name and were joking around with him. Bill F. made himself available to me night and day to answer any and all questions, which was so helpful. Dad has really enjoyed being there. The rooms are spacious and the facility is clean, with really caring staff. They recently started a walking club and Dad loves it. So glad I chose Westwood Commons in North Chili.

My brother in law was diagnosed with FTT (Failure to thrive ) and no longer can be on his own. We toured Westwood Commons and were extremely impressed with the facility. The application process was straight forward along with the client interview. The whole process took about a week from paperwork to moved in. The facilities are clean and bright. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food has been great and Jim is doing very well.

My sister-in-law stayed at Westwood Commons for respite care. They were able to visit the hospital on the day we contacted them. They came again the next day when my sister-in-law was being discharged, and they were able to place her in their respite care that very day. The environment was inviting. The cleanliness was excellent. We felt very comfortable there. The staff members were friendly and very accommodating. My sister-in-law had needs beyond what we were anticipating when she arrived, and they were able to accommodate those needs at the moment. They offered things to do, but at that point, my sister-in-law was in the early stages of her recovery, so she was not able to participate. We saw the menu, and it looked appropriate for every setting. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner seemed to be a nice variety. We felt that the opportunity we had for her to be there was well worth the amount we paid.

Westwood Commons was an "absolute life-saver" for the post-surgical, short-term respite care required by my sister. Having been surprised at my sister's needs, and having no practical plan for post-surgical care, we were most relieved and thankful that Westwood was able to provide immediate assistance, meeting twice with the hospital social worker, then very promptly helping us through the intake process. All the staff were very professional, friendly, and most helpful to our family. They also had the flexibility to adapt to my sister's rapidly changing needs and challenges. And I know that's not easy. I don't know how we'd have made it without Westwood!

This is a top-notch assisted living facility. I highly recommend Westwood Commons. Excellent care and attention to detail. A super-clean facility. The staff is very welcoming, including the marketing manager, administrator, resident aides, front desk, cafeteria, and maintenance. Special thanks to the pharmacy team dispensing medications. The activities calendar is full of age-appropriate events and helps the residents get to know their neighbors. It is a pleasure to have our relative well cared for. Well-stocked library and nice TV viewing lounges.

My Uncle has been at Westwood Commons since last June of this year and myself and the family are very pleased with the care he has received. The initial application process was seamless, we toured the facility and were very impressed overall. We were ensured that my Uncle would be a good fit and they were absolutely right. It is a difficult decision to place a loved one outside the home but Westwood has provided such special care to my Uncle which gives us peace of mind with the decision that we made. The staff are very caring, friendly and approachable from the Administrator, Marketing Director to the Resident Techs and Maintenance Staff who are always there when needed. This is by far the best place for our Uncle, he is safe, well cared for and has the socialization needed for all around good health. Westwood Commons is 5-star plus if looking for a community that treats your loved one with the utmost respect and special care they deserve.

Westwood Commons on North Chili, NY is a beautifully maintained facility with an outstanding staff who genuinely care about their residents. Everyone from administration, nursing, maintenance to reception, finance and fellow residents are kind, compassionate and respectful. We are fortunate to have found this wonderful community for mom to call home. Mom is happy, well cared for and has friends she enjoys being with, which puts our mind at ease.

Mom is very happy there and they have exceeded our expectations. Her room and the rest of the facility are spotless. The decor is light and bright. The other residents are friendly and there is a calendar of activities every day. The staff are friendly too and every question we have had has been answered quickly. I would highly recommend Westwood Commons.

My sister stayed at Westwood Commons for respite care for two weeks. It was a clean place. It was bright and cheerful. When she got there, we were told that there was COVID in the building. She got it and was subjected to staying in her room for two solid weeks; however, there was good care. At the time, there were no activities because COVID was in the building. All residents had to stay in their rooms. All their meals were brought to them. Her room was clean. It had all the necessities, like a TV, a dresser, a small closet, a chair, and a bed. The staff was good. They were pretty caring, and they were very cautious being that COVID was among the residents and/or the staff. It was pricier than what my sister could afford.

I visited Westwood Commons, my first impression is that it smelled like a nursing home. I was able to see their apartments, they were a little dated. The staff who gave me the tour was great, very accommodating, and answered all my questions. He was very nice. I didn't try the food, but the dining area was very sterile, and not very inviting, and they had assigned seats. It's mostly just the smell, I couldn't get past it. It smelled just like a nursing home.

My father-in-law moved into Westwood Commons. It's a smaller place, and I feel he gets better care. They're wonderful, we're very happy, and he's very happy. The food is excellent, the rooms are nice and large, and the staff is attentive. They provide a lot of different activities.

I could write a book about why Westwood Commons is the only choice when it is time to place your parent in a home. If you want your parent to have a home away from home, to be respected, to feel comfortable, loved and wanted, then Westwood Commons is your answer. I have often said this place must be what heaven is like. The entire staff is nothing short of being angels: patient, kind, considerate, helpful, encouraging, supportive and always going beyond their job description. You are always greeted with a smile as soon as you enter. Any questions or concerns are immediately resolved. Response time for the call bells is under a minute. The facility is Oder free and spotless. The staff engages the residents in fun activities: games, art field trips. They interact in the dining room assisting whenever help is needed. There is a little store where items like tissues, toothpaste and ice cream can be purchased. Residents can visit with each other in the many sitting rooms. Here you will find books, TVs and puzzles. I have walked into my mother’s room to find staff sitting and talking with her, holding her hand, comforting her. We can honestly say this was the best place EVER for our mom. She loved living at Westwood Commons. We will be forever grateful to to them for loving our mom as if she were their own mom.

Mother is in Westwood Commons. It’s very good. It’s beautiful and very nice. It’s not a big place; it’s a small place. Everybody gets to know everybody, so it’s nice. The people that run it know all the clients very easily. It doesn’t take them long to know the clients. It’s a great home; it's very homey and clean. It got new facilities. They take people on rides to places like Walmart. They go on a bus just to take rides just to see the countryside which is nice. She has a big room. There’s a couch and a bed in separate location so it looks like she has a studio apartment. No stove, kitchen, or sink. They’re very accommodating. She couldn’t be in independent living anymore. She needed help and supervision to give her pills and things like that. If she needed more help, they’ll give her more help. They do whatever she needs to have done. The nurse that runs the place is just there during the day. There’s a doctor’s office that’s close by that sees patients every week if you sign up with that doctor. And the people that are there are available at the drop of their head if something happens. But you have to realize that if you’re a person who needs a lot of medical care, it might not be the place for them. It’s just assisted living -- not a lot of nursing care. Any care you do at home, they can give that. They don’t check if you’re still breathing and all that stuff. Maybe there are some people that they really check on because some people have medical needs done during the night. But if you have a loved one that you want to be resuscitated or they’re close to that edge that something could happen to them, that might not be the place for them.

I thought the overall atmosphere of this assisted living home was comfortable and calm. The staff seemed to be very polite, and truly cared about the residents. They have church every Sunday, and they have events for the residents to participate in on different different days; like movies and bingo. The dining room was different then I had thought it would be, all the residents have assigned seating. I asked why this was and they said because some residents don't get along with others. The cnas do room checks every night, about every one to two hours or so. The only thing that I think they needed was better security, or alarms on the front doors. A resident with dementia had left the facility and was about two miles from it, she told us she was going home. Over all I thought this was a great facility. If you would like a place for your loved one, I would absolutely recommend this place!

The staff is very friendly and caring. When you enter the front door, the receptionist is always warm and cheerful. The nurses are always caring and patient with the residents. The wait staff is quick and pleasant. The diningroom is an inviting atmosphere and residents are able to sit at tables with their friends. The food is average but nutritionally sufficient. A nice feature is that family is invited to stay for meals with the resident if they would like, especially during the holidays. The bedrooms are nicely appointed and there is room for the resident to personalize the room to their liking. The private rooms are large and very nice. The doubles are a bit more crowded but still a decent size. The community has an active recreation program. There are a lot of fun activities ranging from church to arts and crafts for the residents to take part in on a daily basis. A favorite of my Grandma's is bingo.Overall, this has been a great new place for my Grandmother to call home.
