We visited Artis Senior Living of Commack. I thought they were fantastic. It was a beautiful place, and if my father wasn't too sick, he would have gone there for some respite care. Joanne was the woman who toured us and kept in touch with us. It was clean, new, and bright. The facility itself was just inviting. The staff was wonderful. There's nothing that I could say negatively about the place except it's a little pricey. It's a little expensive, but that's what happens when you need to get into these types of places. They're not cheap, otherwise, everything is perfect. It would have been a beautiful place for my dad to go, even for a short respite period. It was an amazing place, and I wish all the elderly could go there, but not many people can afford that kind of financial expenditure. If you have long-term insurance, that's helpful. That will help to offset some of the costs, for sure. I was quite impressed with the facility. It was beyond what I ever expected because my father was in a nursing home environment that was not like this at all.
