My grandfather recently passed and this place was absolutely terrible to him. Attempted to call and zoom call and the nurses would not connect the call and kept telling us they were trying. My grandfather was over medicated and suffered. He lost 60 pounds and was afraid of the man in the mirror. During the last few minutes, instead of bringing my grandmother up to see him, the staff left my grandma waiting while they argued over lunch. She missed her chance to see her husband. His proxy (my mother) has been denied access to the medical records. Staff took his cellphone away. Limited his phone contact (transferred call after set time back to main line). Told relatives they were not permitted to take pictures of him. Limited visits to 30 minutes with a nurse standing in the doorway on a laptop. Avoid this place if you want you and your love ones to be cared for. Rest in pease grandpa

My mother is at Steuben Center (Formerly Steuben County Infirmary). It has not had any cases of the virus ever. She likes where she is now. I was able to negotiate down a reduced price, and we like it because we feel that she's safe. The staff is very caring, and we've been pleased. We've been able to Zoom with my mother, and they've been very helpful in setting that up. She said she likes the food. I haven't been able to go in; all I see is what's on the website. Sometimes it takes them a while to get back to you when you're trying to process paperwork, but overall it's been a reasonable experience.
