My father is in Sandia Ridge Center. He is in rehab, and it's a decent place for it, although I wouldn't put him in the nursing home over there as they have too many people. He also doesn't have a private room. He's sharing it; there are two beds there, and it's small. The upkeep is fine, though. The people who work there are very helpful. They call me when they have to administer meds and make sure that they're the right meds. I spoke to the social worker yesterday, and he's really nice, too. The nurse kept me informed of everything. I didn't have any issues with any of them. Yesterday, they allowed him to get into a wheelchair and go outside. When he was coming in, he got off the chair and fell, and they called me as soon as it happened. They also informed me right away of any changes. They're really good, communication-wise. I've seen what they give my father to eat, and he actually enjoys it. He finishes his food, and it looks very good. He's been doing okay with the activities and with his physical therapy. He has issues with the fall, so they're working on his balance, and they're also working on getting him to use a walker. The parking is close to the building, so you don't have to walk a long distance. That's good because my mother also has issues walking far, so it's convenient when she comes to visit.

My mom is staying at Sandia Ridge Center. It's a really bad place, that's why I need to take her out of there. It's not clean. When I go to see my mom, I can't even use the bathroom because they're so dirty. Even the guest bathroom is dirty. All the rooms are just like chaos. Because they do the laundry, she's missing a lot of clothes. I asked them for a walker for my mom, but that hasn't happened. They're bad. I've been there for my mom's breakfast, and it's always the same. No change of menu. I wouldn't even eat the food. They don't do anything to the patients, like exercise or make them walk. They don't have a rehab center. When I asked my mom what she was doing, she was always in her room. She even eats in her room. They don't have events. They have an open space, and the ones that can move, go to that space and sit in there on their own. Some of them are eating by themselves. Some are doing nothing but sitting there. Some of them are just unable to do anything for themselves, but I see that they're probably just left there in that area. It's just a sad environment. My mom had an issue with the staff members, and it's not the first time. They're rude. The way they treat their patients, it's not right. They shouldn't be working with the elderly if they don't have the patience. Everything about the facility needs improvement - the management, the care team, and the caseworkers.

I did not like it at all. The staff were courteous and helpful but I did not like the atmosphere. I find it extremely overcrowded. When we entered, it was full of wheelchairs wandering around. I do not think there was any entertainment for the residents. They had a large dining area. Each bedroom is occupied by two to three residents.
