I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have been very happy with Brookestone Meadows Rehabilitation And Care Center. Their facilities are very nice and well-maintained, and their staff is engaged, professional and caring. I really like this community and they have been very good. I see the residents doing puzzles and all that kinds of stuff but with my mom's condition, she doesn't really participate in the activities. The one thing I appreciate is that the staff seems to be caring and professional. The cost is about over $12,000 a month right now. They have extensive facilities. They had several common rooms, a large chapel, a beauty salon or barbershop, and you can tell just walking by the rehabilitation rooms that they're state-of-the-art. It's just very home-like with plush upholstered furniture, a grandfather clock, a grand piano, and it's a very welcoming environment.

Food was terrible. Evening meals should not even be called food.

I was very impressed with Brookestone Meadows when my father was out there for rehab. I seems like a very well-organized business. The care is excellent, it's the best and his room is very good. The staff is very good and we didn't have problems with anybody. They have all the amenities, a very good physical therapy department and they're very good in working with the patients. I'm a nurse and I'd highly recommend them, it's a well-oiled machine.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a patient at Brookstone Manor for several month last year following a complicated knee replacement procedure. Although I was very impressed with the beautiful, but almost too large, facility, i found that the main focus was on physical therapy sessions. Several PT and OT sessionsy consumed most of my day. After meals there wasnt much time left just to rest. For the most part the staff were young and very focused on goals. My only complaint was that sometimes it was difficult to get assistace with dressing, bathing or assistance to the bathroom.because they had a full patient load and always were short of staff that were not involved in physical therapy. I was shocked to see the billing to my ins for the PT. Although most charges were covered, many were reduced by my ins.

I visited this facility

Brookestone Meadows was wonderful, and the rooms are beautiful. The grounds are very beautiful, and they're immaculate. They're very expensive

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Mom was at Brookestone Meadows Rehabilitation and Care Center from February until October, but too many things happened, so we moved her to another place. This place was just too big. It might be a good place for rehab, but they're not the greatest place for somebody like my mom who needed extensive care. The place looked beautiful, but we had a hard time with the staff. Mom was supposed to be on a two-person assist and she wasn't, so she fell and hurt her toe. They didn't even notice it; we had to tell them. She fell again, and that's when we had to put her on the long-term side because they said they are more prepared to deal with somebody like my mom who could not stand. Things started out OK, but later on, she could not find somebody to take her to the toilet. They had three nurses and two of them had to be in the dining room. So, there's just one person left on the floor to take care of all these people. The very last straw was we put her on hospice care, but the physician there never came to visit her. The hospice nurse was an angel from heaven. She was so nice to my mom. She treated her like she was her own mom. She would sit next to her and talk to her and just really treated her well. The others would not communicate with her. When we would ask a question about my mom's care, the nurse would give one answer, and they would give a different answer. The last thing that happened was there was a lady at the center who had Alzheimer's who just pushes herself around in her wheelchair. My sister came to visit one da,y and she was out there all by herself in the parking lot. Nobody knew she was there. That's when we decided that was it and left. They need to improve on their staffing and communication with the relatives of their patients.

I visited this facility

My first impression of Brookestone Meadows was that it was a superb facility. I can't say enough good things about it. It was fabulous. I've eaten the food, and it was great. The staff was loaded with smiles. It was very welcoming. There were no odors. It was a good place; probably the best place I've ever been.

Brookstone was a wonderful facility. All of the employees were so kind and did everything that they could do to make sure that my grandparents as well as my family were comfortable at Brookstone.
