My mother has moved into Prelude Homes & Services Woodbury South. I like that it's small and it's memory care only, so she's in a place where everybody's in a similar situation as hers. It's a small place, so she's not gonna get lost in there. She was heavily involved with her church, and they do church services three times a week. She can also bring her hairstylist to their salon. They have pretty lenient visitation rules, so we can visit whenever we want. It just seems like a good fit for her. The staff is friendly. They don't have a lot of residents, so they can focus on making sure everyone's taken care of. They're not nurses, but they have an on-call nurse. They do a pretty good job. They make a care plan for each individual and stick to that. They have good food. I'm impressed with their food. They've got their menu posted, so you can see ahead of time what's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was there yesterday and she ate really well. They have a calendar for their activities as well. During the week, they have activities every day. The weekends, they don't have as much staff, so that's when they want family to visit as much as possible, but they have activities all day during the week. They do games, they listen to music and sing, they do bingo, they watch movies together, and they do some arts and crafts, cooking, decorations, and things like that. The pricing is pretty reasonable relatively.

My husband moved into Prelude Memory Care Cottages. I selected it because it's a smaller facility. He is living in a men's cottage, and there are just a few guys in there. They have a dedicated caregiver on 24 hours. I felt that they would be able to give him the type of care that he would need versus being in a larger facility. I liked their location because it's three miles from my home and fairly new. I looked at a lot of facilities, and Prelude is competitive with other memory care facilities. I was comfortable with the rate.

Prelude (Memory Care Cottages) was a very nice facility, but it was very far away. They don’t have enough staff on hand also. I don’t think they have a lot of programs. It was nice but a little more expensive than the others. The maintenance is excellent.
