My uncle is going to NorBella Senior Living - Savage. The reasons we chose them were the size of it and the state it was in. It was very well kept. And they had a larger bathroom that my uncle could get his wheelchair into, so it's better bathroom facilities for him. There wasn't anything special about any of the facilities that stood out better than the others. But it's all on one floor, it's all in one area, so that makes some moving around a little bit easier. It's a newer facility. It's all hardwood floors, so it's easy for wheelchairs.

My husband moved into NorBella Senior Living - Savage several months ago. It's a nice, clean facility. Some of the employees are very good, but some need more training. The younger staff is not well trained. The older staff is very well trained. The atmosphere is good. There's a lot of rice in their food. They offer some bingo, and there are tables for puzzles and reading. They have some entertainment, and there are board games if they want to play them, but most people don't. It's not perfect, but it's good. They're getting better the longer they're open. The facilities are great. It's expensive though, and they need a more effective business manager. They need to improve response times to a call.

One of the places that I really liked was NorBella Senior Living in Savage. The reason I like that facility is because it is all on one level, so if you're in a care unit or in an apartment, you just basically walk across the hall to the corner and you can go to the dining room. It was a nice, clean, neat facility. It was just one-level living, which would be perfect and less confusing. There were appliances inside the apartment. There was a small refrigerator and a small microwave. The person who toured me around was thorough. I enjoyed speaking with her. I thought she had some good ideas and was very helpful. Outside, they have a patio, and they have tables, chairs, and benches.

I toured NorBella Senior Living - Savage. They didn't have a lot of scheduled activities yet, so I didn't think it was going to be engaging enough. It was nice and clean. They have a beauty salon. However, they didn't look staffed enough or ready to take more people. They had eight residents in memory care when I toured.

NorBella Senior Living - Savage was a nice setup. It's a new facility and appeared to be well-managed. The memory care unit appears to be clean and well-staffed. They staffed according to the needs of the residents, rather than a fixed number of staff on hand at all times. They have separate areas set up for games and smaller interactions. There is another little area for their dining. They also have a secure patio area.

We ended up going with NorBella Senior Living - Savage for dad. It's very simple. It's not something overly extravagant compared to other locations that we visited and based on the care that my dad needs, it meets those needs a lot better than other places. The apartments are great. It's a brand new location, so they're very spacy and very bright. It has all the home necessities that he would need. They have the laundry services and the meal services for him. They'll be able to assist with his medical stuff. We have not tried their food, but the ambience there looked very nice. It's bright and it just feels homey in there. They have very good staff. Probably the only complaint would be just when we went in for his assessment, it was just a little bit unorganized, but everything ended up lining up.
