"We toured Ecumen Pathstone. We loved every bit of the place from the staffing, the meals, and the amenities. When you walk in, it feels like home. They have every level of care from independent living to the nursing home section. The staff was very helpful. If they see someone in the hallway, they recognize them and introduce themselves. They're very, very friendly to the residents. We tried their food, and the food was excellent. They pretty much have everything you'd want like inside conference rooms, meeting rooms, and family rooms. If you have a family come up and stuff like that, they're very accommodating. It's also centrally located within three minutes of everything."

"Water's Edge was nice. They have smaller studio-sized apartments. It's a smaller community, which is nice. They have friendly staff. They have a common eating area. It was well-maintained, and well-kept. I didn't see any activities. They were starting their lunch hour. I wasn't able to tour the full facility, but from what I saw, it was well and nice but not perfect. I didn't see an exercise area, although the outdoor view was very, very lovely."

"Autumn Grace was clean. It just didn't look sharper as I expected it to be, and they have a shared bath, which I don't think would work for my brother. Laura, the director, was a really kind person and very sensitive. She's lovely. She would definitely be a positive factor for anyone considering going there. She is a really, really a good person with a good heart, and really caring. The residents whom I saw looked good, and they appeared to be doing well. It seemed things were going pretty well there."

"I had an in-person tour of the Haven at Peace Village. I sort of like the place because it's on the way home. I could go by easily, so I could stop more often. It was a really nice place. I was impressed with the rooms, and I would have put my parents there. The staff was very nice and well informed, told me a lot about their food services, and their choices for meals. The dining room looked very nice. It was well set up. It looked like it had everything you needed. They had one or two choices for meals."

"My wife was a resident at Pheasant Ridge, in their memory care unit for just under 2 years. Our experiences were very good from my first phone call to Nate, to the staff that assisted with moving my wife's belongings out after her passing. Staff was always very friendly, and caring to my wife, and all the other residents. I was always welcome, and visited my wife every day. I had at least 1 meal with my wife every day. The food was always very good, with adequate serving size. They have daily activities. My wife especially enjoyed the 2 Bingo sessions almost every week, and the daily morning exercise sessions. The staff and residents became like a second family to me. Management, aides, and nursing staff were always available when I needed to talk to them. If they weren't available right away, they were always prompt to return my calls and e-mails."

"I visited Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter. It was nice and clean. They were friendly. The location was a little bit out of the way. I didn’t get a chance to see the rooms, but from what I saw, I liked it. "

"The staff and the meals here in Vista Prairie at Monarch Meadows are good. I have a lovely apartment and I'm allowed to have my dog here with me. It is a two-bedroom and I have a small patio behind my unit. We have a nice grass area out here that we can walk around on. Compared to the people I had in Arizona, the staff here is much younger and I get the impression that they're not as informed, but they're fine. They take care of us and give us medications. Because of our age, we don't have any outdoor facilities, but different things around Mankato are of interest to the residents here. We have things going on that we can do here, like bingo, exercise, and things to keep our minds busy."

"Finding a memory care facility for a parent is by far one of the most difficult transitions a family can make. We were, however, pleasantly impressed with New Perspective from the very first phone call to set up a tour with Nick. Not only did the NP staff walk us through ever step we had to make, but their kind, caring, considerate personal support for Mom and our family has been an on-going blessing to us. The facility itself is well maintained with an open and inviting atmosphere. There are always activities and smiling faces to assist Mom in her needs. And the food is really good! Probably the best compliment I can offer in this review comes by way of my Dad .... "Everyone there seems so happy!" New Perspective has become a second family. "

"My mother is going to move into Birchwood Cottages - North Mankato. They have small rooms. They have a separate room for a shower and a bathtub, so they have to pick the day that they're going to use it. It has a stool and the sink in her room, and then it's a small room. Then they have a living room, dining room, and everything kind of conjoined in a sharing area. But they have her room looking over wooded ravines and the view is very nice. I wish she had her own individual shower, but she doesn't, and the rooms are pretty darn small. The residents there are of the same kind of upbringing that my mom had, so I think after she's there for a week, she'll be fine. She's excited, she doesn't have to cook for herself anymore. What I also like about Birchwood is that they include the residents if they want, to fold clothes or help out with little things to make them feel more at home or helpful. I think that's great. The facility is only four years old. It is smaller and has not as many residents. I think they have 32 residents there, so they get the attention they need individually."

"My mom was at a memorycare facility in Mankato for several years before having to be hosiptalized. In the process we were told by the E.R. Physician that Mom had a skin breakdown due to poor hygiene. He recommended and we decided we needed to find another facility. Near the end of Mom's hospital stay we were introduced to Oak Terrace, Autumn Lane Memorycare, initially via phone conversation and then a personal visit from Nurse Manager at the hospital. Since that day last summer Mom has had an amazing recovery. The transition from her previous facility to Oak Terrace, in all respects, has been like night and day. I can't say enough to express the gratitude our family feels toward the professional, caring and involved staff at Oak Terrace"

"My mother stayed for two months at Oaklawn after a serious hospital stay. Her doctors had suggested hospice care, but we weren't ready for that. The Oaklawn staff was very professional, competent, and accomodating. She improved greatly during her stary there, returned to her home without hospice, and is still doing well independently a year and a half later. I attribute much of this success story to Oaklawn Health Care Center. "
