My mom was at a memorycare facility in Mankato for several years before having to be hosiptalized. In the process we were told by the E.R. Physician that Mom had a skin breakdown due to poor hygiene. He recommended and we decided we needed to find another facility. Near the end of Mom's hospital stay we were introduced to Oak Terrace, Autumn Lane Memorycare, initially via phone conversation and then a personal visit from Nurse Manager at the hospital. Since that day last summer Mom has had an amazing recovery. The transition from her previous facility to Oak Terrace, in all respects, has been like night and day. I can't say enough to express the gratitude our family feels toward the professional, caring and involved staff at Oak Terrace

As a resident, I must share my positive experience of living at Oak Terrace. From my first day, the staff has been amazing. I've always felt warmth and kindness living here. They have been so accommodating to the individual needs of residents. All levels of staff have the utmost concern and thoughtfulness over my health and happiness. It's been soothing and nice to do away with a lot everyday worries and challenges I had been experiencing. Feels good to be around others. I definitely see why so many people are happier in a family-owned assisted living like Oak Terrace. It really does feel like family. I feel safe here. That's important in my life. My fellow residents are wonderful. Activities are fantastic. Every week is something new to do. Food is delicious. I strongly recommend Oak Terrace Assisted Living for yourself or a loved one. Best place ever!

We picked Oak Terrace for my father. So far, it has been good. They're attentive. It is clean and it is good. He enjoys some of the activities like bingo and movies. He likes everything about their meals. They have a movie room and the same room is for bingo. They also have a nice dining area, a nice library area for sitting and chatting, and a nice patio out in the back.

Oak Terrace looked very nice but the living quarters didn't seem adequate. Amenities looked very nice. The dining area was very impressive. The woman that gave me the tour and talked to me seemed very knowledgeable and very caring. They gave me a calendar of different activities that they offer there. It seemed like they had a variety of activities and they looked good. It also looked like a very nice place; however, their rooms were small.

One thing I didn't like about Oak Terrace was when you walk in, there's nobody there, so anybody can come off the street and just walk straight into the place. It felt darker and not as bright as the other place. The atmosphere was different. I saw a couple of residents who were not active at all.

The tour at Oak Terrace was very good, very thorough, and beautiful. One of the reasons we did not go there was because they do not take pets, and we have a dog that we don’t want to part with at this point. They said that there was a barbecue and outside activities. I liked the underground garage. I was impressed.

I'm going to move into Oak Terrace West in two weeks. I spoke with one resident who lived there for 26 years. It's very well kept, and my three-room place is very nice. People should consider Oak Terrace West because it is well run, very pretty, and convenient.

I visited Oak Terrace. I liked that the apartments were large. It was light, airy, and very clean. They had an activity calendar, but I just glanced at it and saw that they took them to a lot of places. I spoke to several staff members who were very knowledgeable, very caring and seemed very responsible. I would trust them completely. I also talked to a man whose mother was there, and he could not say enough nice things about what was going on there. They provided transportations for doctors' appointments. They had physicians who came there, laundry services, an exercise room, a courtyard outside, an activity room with a pool table, a library, and stuff like that.

We toured the facility today. (8/19/16) Judy was fabulous in informing us of all the details/activities/options for our mom. The apartments were beautiful. We were impressed with the cleanliness of Oak Terrace West. Hopefully we can move our mom here very soon..

I visited Oak Terrace Assisted Living. It was nice and clean in a nice location, but my husband couldn’t get in there. The people were friendly. The rooms were nice, spacious, and clean.

Oak Terrace was very good and excellent. The tour was fabulous and the rooms were nice. At the time we went there, they were already eating. There were a couple of people that are already in there and they commented to me that they were very happy to be in there. I have had a great positive feedback for everything that I saw there. I didn?t see anything that needs to be improved. It was run very well, it?s very clean and I saw that they really care about the people staying there, especially with the older people.

My mother is a resident at this facility. She loves it here! She has a very spacious, well designed apartment. She has a nice deck off her apartment so she can enjoy the nice weather. The food is above average and served warm. The residents and staff are friendly and accomidating. My mother is very happy with the level of activities here. There are also many attractive outside spaces for her to enjoy. They also provide transportation if needed for my mother without any additional fees. We could not be more pleased with this living arrangement for my mother.

We went to Oak Terrace. It seemed cold and uninviting. There just didn't seem to be much life there. The hallways were dark. There didn't seem many people working there. I think we saw maybe two or three people and those that we saw, they were friendly enough. They had a list of activities but not quite as extensive as the other two places. Security seemed OK.

My mom and my dad are at Oak Terrace, and it is a very nice place. I was very impressed with it. My dad is very happy, but my mom is still coping. The staff was very outgoing and was doing everything they could to make the residents, as well as their guests, comfortable as possible. We actually stayed in one of their apartments, and it was beautiful. We had lunch with them, and that was a very nice lunch. They have lot of activities, like they go out on trips, they have nail painting, and they have book clubs. They have a monthly schedule posted on their refrigerators. I am really glad that my dad is able to do everything, to be around other people.

Oak Terrace is probably 25 years old. It is also only 10 minutes away from us. I visited this facility for my mom. The facility itself was fine and their staff was excellent. They were helpful in giving us a tour. Overall, they were all good in many respects and certain ways. It was also a huge facility. I felt there were too many people in their ALF, specifically their memory care unit. It had a lot of people in there. I wanted my mom to live in a smaller facility. Also their rooms were not individual rooms, they only have doubles. I would recommend this to others because that would meet their needs fine, but I wanted mom in a smaller place.

What a gorgeous facility. My mother-in-law lives at Oak Terrace and just loves it. Great food, plenty of activities and the staff is wonderful. I would recommend anyone in the area who is looking for an assisted living to check out Oak Terrace.

The staff was always very positive and seemed to take great care of the residents. They were always very friendly and helpful towards the residents and also to visitors. My great grandmother seemed to be very pleased with the food and activities that were offered at this facility. The scenery at Oak Terrace was beautiful and they had a wonderful garden area for the residents to visit. They also had a great recreation room with plenty of activities and lots of space. There is also a movie/TV room where residents can relax and enjoy themselves. The room that my great grandmother lived in was also very nice and spacious. I thought it was great that she could still feel like she had some independence even though she had to be in an assisted living home. Even though she suffered from Alzheimer's disease, my great grandmother spent the last year of her life in comfort and happiness at this facility and for that I am very grateful.
