My brother is in assisted living at Park View Village. It's a small facility. There are only 20 apartments. A couple of them have couples and wives, so there are about 22 people in there. The administrator nurse-type person is excellent. Her name is Lisa. She has a very good time making you feel comfortable. She answers and addresses all your questions, and the staff there is well-trained. It's a level one, so it's not a high-level assisted living place, and it's not a memory care place, but residents are treated with respect and dignity. My brother, of course, wants to be home, but he can't, so this is an alternative for him because it's close to his friends and other relatives. His apartment is adequate and very nice. They keep things updated and clean. They're very clear about what they will clean and what they won't clean, like they won't dust. The food is good, and there is a lot of variety. He was subsisting on a diet of like TV dinners and fried foods, and so he's not really enamored with the healthier food choices. The activities are getting better. When COVID hit, everything shut down, and they didn't have an activity director, but now they have one. They have at least two activities every day except Saturday and Sunday. Every assisted living is really expensive.
