I have a family member that currently resides at Tawas Village. My father was totally independent and until recently lived in his own home and drove his own car. He never asked for help or needed any. This was a drastic change for me and him. It was totally overwhelming for us both. I wasn't sure if or how he would adjust. My husband and I toured this place and met with the administrator who addressed our concerns. Previously we had been looking at assisted living facilities down state. We took a tour and were impressed by the cleanliness and the smiles we saw. The staff immediately set to work making him feel welcome and addressed all of his needs, both physical and emotional. The keep him engaged in social activities during the day. They also take residents out into the community for different local events and out to eat. He has gotten to know many new friends. Any time I have a concern, or he needs something, all I have to do is text or call. The staff is engaged and willing to do whatever is needed to help him with whatever his needs may be. He is safe, well taken care of and seems happy. I am grateful for all their compassion, understanding, and the kindness they show him. I strongly recommend Tawas Village to anyone who is looking for a place for a loved one.

My father has been a resident for over one and a half years. Alzheimer's has progressed fast since he first came to reside there and the staff has accommodated each new level of care for him. The staff is very kind and respectful. The facility and his room are kept very clean. The food has been very good and the entire time he has been there, I only heard him say he didn't like the meal selection once. I would highly recommend Tawas Village to anyone looking assisted living.

Tawas village is a great facility, they have assisted living as well as it being a nursing home. I was a close friend to a man that lived there. He was well taken care of and really enjoyed being there. They had a bunch of great activities as well as having numerous volunteers. The folks there were always doing something, which is more than I can say for other facilitys I have visited. The folks seems happy, well fed and well taken care of, facility was clean and the staff was lovely.The local private school even had an event "Adopt a Grandparent", they would come in on bus, i believe once a week and spend time talking and playing games with a resident. The kids would come in and have a music day, sing and entertain the folks. Tawas Village is a place that I would send my parents or Grandparents, and if when I get older and I need care I would also enjoy being placed there.
