I always found this home to be very nice, clean, and hospitable. The employees truly know every single resident, due to the fact that it is small. The residents also know each other very well and appeared to interact quite frequently. Its close proximity to the hospital was beneficial as well. There were plenty of activities for the residents. The employees really go out of their way to encourage local organizations to volunteer at the nursing home and interact with the residents, which they really enjoy. They also went out of their way to make visitors feel welcome. The dining room has nice dishes and linens. However, In regards to the food offerings, the food at this location was complained about often by the residents. But they do keep this place sparkling clean and it has a very homey and cozy atmosphere.

I visited this facility to see my aunt and determine if this facility is suitable for my mother. This visit occurred just prior to a health issue which caused me to spend a few months in another skilled nursing facility. The Rush County nursing home is an exceptional facility. It is modern and well kept. The staff members have the typical friendly Kansas demeanor and are pleasant to talk to. My gut feeling was that the management seems highly concerned about the patient population and staff training as evident in the grounds, recreation facilities, structural condition, and condition of interior equipment. My aunt is happy living in the facility and the other residents seemed pleased with the living conditions, food, and services. It seemed to me like most residents enjoy the entertainment that the facility arranges for them such as dances, and the opportunity for the residents to take part in performing. Overall, I feel fine about my mother living in this facility.
