We went to Higley Mansion for my mom. Higley was very nice. It was an older building, but it was still very nice and well kept. The girl that took us on a tour was friendly and helpful. They did have activities going on. They were playing bingo. As far as I can see, the facility was very clean. There were no odors. The size of it was smaller, so there was a closer and more one-on-one type sense about it. Overall, I was impressed with it. It would have been my second choice for my mom; however, it was more for a short-term stay.

Higley Mansion Care Center wasn’t a really expensive facility. It was assisted living, but if you don’t need a lot of care and can do some stuff on your own, it’s not too bad. If you needed two people to help you, then you couldn’t go to it. I was a little disappointed in them. They had things for them to do like music and parties. I think the sanitation could be better, but I think the staff was kind of stretched. I had lived not too far from it growing up so I felt at home with it, and the directors were really nice. The staff was nice, too, but there were a lot of turnovers. It’s one person per room plus you have your own bathroom, and they’re furnished with a bed and a dresser.

Higley Mansion is an assisted living facility. Has private rooms with private stool, shower and sink. Excellent food served in a beautiful dining room. The Higley Mansion was a mansion at one time-looks like a big home. Nursing care on duty at all times. Both my parents have been there. A very caring facility.
