I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom stayed in Lincolnshire Place - Memory Care & Assisted Living for two weeks only because they would not take my dad. Lincolnshire is a beautiful facility. It's beautiful, but they do not have enough staff. For people that need more help, there is just not enough staff. The layout was great. I like that place because there was a two-bedroom apartment instead of just one room. There were two rooms. There was one bedroom with a bath and then a small living room, so that's why we went there because they had a two-room apartment, which I liked. The facility is nice and newer, but I feel like they didn't hear me when I was trying to tell them about my dad and the needs that he was going to have. They were not being upfront with me about him, and they would have saved me the money in paying for the movers because I had to get the movers two times. I don't think they had enough activities there either. They have the laundry and apartment cleaning. They help with showers and things like that. However, they should be more honest about the level of care that they can take care of there. Because if I had realized that they were not skilled nursing, I would not have even sent my mother there. People need to understand the differences between skilled nursing and assisted living. They need to understand that the people going into this are trying to make a decision for their parents, and it's a very emotionally turbulent time in their own lives trying to figure this out for their parents and trying to find the best place. If they don't understand the difference like I didn't, I should have moved my mother into memory care at the other facility, so my dad would have better care, and I didn't need to send him out to the hospitals for his catheter. So that's a big difference. They need to understand the difference between skilled nursing and what memory care or assisted living offers. The food is good there, and the facility is super nice; however, I didn't see any activities going on.

My mother moved into the Lincolnshire Place Memory Care. It's excellent care, we're very happy with her there, and we think we made the right decision. The staff is wonderful, I'd rate them a ten. She is in memory care. She loves the food, it's very nice, very clean, very well maintained. They have their own hairstylist, a dentist that comes in, a doctor that comes in, they take care of all her medications, they have crafts, they have exercise, and when it's nice they let them go outside, plant things, and bake. They have a movie theater. It's very expensive, but it's very good service.
