"Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife Community was a very nice place, but there were some things we didn't care for. It didn't fit what we wanted. We looked at the villas and they were very nice, but the only problem was we had to walk outside to go eat our meals at the main building. The staff was very nice. We had a meal there, it was OK, but my wife didn't think it was good. The grounds were very nice and well- kept. They had transportation for the residents."

"Nice place if you can get a second floor apartment. On the first floor it always sounds like you live under a horse barn. Building is not well soundproofed. Food is good though always delivered to the room cold. Not bad, usually ok to eat. I don't know if they have an on-site, sit down restaurant. Local cab service, is available with restaurants and groceries nearby. Close to the old mall (I don't know if mall is still open.) It has been well over a year since I was there so things may have changed."

"I toured The Heritage. It was alright, they're just a little bit more expensive than other facilites. The dining area looked fine. I happened to be there for rehab for my knee so I had a little experience with that place. The food was very good. They had some card games, some church music, and even a preacher on Sundays. My first impression was that it was a little bit elaborate than other places."

"We had my mom in assisted living for two months. It is called Maple Crest. They are probably one of the top in the nation. This is totally private through Mennonite Home. It was absolutely fabulous. It was like a resort. The people were fantastic to my mother. There was nothing that was wrong with it. The people were great, and the food was great. There was nothing to worry about. They checked on Mom while she was there. The place didn't smell and it wasn't dirty. It was even cleaner than a lot of people keep their homes. I was pleased with this place. They had a crafts room where they had furnishings and everything set up; however, Mom wouldn't do any of that. My mom was the problem. I also wish she was still there. Unfortunately, she moved herself out. She hired movers and moved herself back home. "

"The Meadows has a homey atmosphere and a small community. There are a lot of rural fields and a pond to look at, and it's a lot cheaper. The dining room is great. They had a happy hour on Friday afternoons where the residents family can come in and have snacks. The staff is very pleasant. They have different things going on, like church services, bible studies, and bingo. There’s one area that is so nicely decorated that the community comes in and uses it for weddings. It’s been a very pleasant experience so far. "

"My grandmother was a resident at Heritage in 2008. She had been in 3, or 4 other homes before she arrived here. This was, by far, the best facility she was in. The staff was always friendly, the doctor's cared, the food was good, etc. My grandmother had dementia and often forgot the nurses. They were always patient and respective. She had her own room, which was extremely roomy (under the circumstances) and clean. She was a resident when she passed away and did an excellent job of showing sympathy and respect. I would highly recommend Heritage. "

"I toured Wyandot Senior Village in Upper Sandusky. It's all on one floor, and the units were built side by side, but you get an individual apartment. You get a nice living space, a kitchenette off to the side, an independent bathroom, an independent bedroom, and plenty of storage spaces. I really, really like this place for the independence and the location. It's very clean, it's well managed, and I've really enjoyed talking to the people I've met there. Some were my age, some were a little younger, but they were personable in all respects. The community is well maintained, and I like the whole ambience and everything about it. All of the staff I met were very top rated, too."

"I visited Upper Sandusky Senior Villas a year and a half ago. They were still in the process of building some of the units, but they already have a couple of residents. I went for a tour and for information. They were very nice, and the rooms were adequate. The upkeep was very nice. The dining area was also really nice, and the size was adequate. The parking experience was fine. I think each unit also has its own little porch or patio, and they were very nice."
