"My husband has been at Ramsey Village for about three weeks now and he seems to be doing OK there. Everybody there is very friendly and very helpful. We like working with the nurses and the staff in the office. It has a home-like atmosphere. I am not allowed in the dining room, so I have not tried their food, but my husband likes the food there. They have movie days where they watch movies and have popcorn. They take the residents out on trips. They'll do just about anything that you need help with."

"Holland Farms Senior Living was brand new and it looked like a lot of details had been planned out ahead of time. It was very inviting and very comfortable. The staff was very good and they've done their homework especially, for their memory care residents. Most of the rooms have their own bathroom and shower, and they look out to a pond. I saw the menu and it looked wonderful. The dining area looked very elegant and very much like a very nice hotel setting. One thing that stood out was that they take the residents for a ride in the afternoon. It also has everything that one needs."

"The apartments are very nice and modern. Full size appliances. Walk in showers. Its set up great for senior living. Washers and dryers are set up in the apartments. Wifi and cable are free. Nice courtyard and patios. The staff is very nice and friendly. They're plenty of activities going on everyday. Very happy here."

"My mother stayed at 3801 Grand for a month. She was there from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It was a very nice place. It was very social. It was very similar to the other community. It was probably not as plush, but it was a better valued for the money. It was very comfortable, and very nice. We really like it. My mother was in their memory care so there wasn’t a whole lot of social stuff that she was able to do. But for the assisted-living part, it seemed like they had a lot of stuff going on. She said the food was fine. It was on the bland side. There wasn't a lot of butter or salt, but it was good. The dining-area was beautiful. The place was very homey. The staff was very good. They treated my mom very well. "

"I toured Perry Lutheran Homes Spring Valley Campus. It looked like a nice and clean facility. I wasn't as familiar with it, but I think they were really good. The staff were really good. They had a courtyard. It wasn't quite as nice as the other place. In terms of cleanliness, the hallways and the main areas were very nicely kept. It's also right next to a hospital."

"We toured for my in-laws. Our overall experience was just what we expected. We met with Kevin, and he explained and showed us what it was all about. He also showed us two options that were available and told us about the 2-bedrooms. Both options were wonderful. It was a nice facility, brand new. I liked all of the services that they were going to provide. It made me feel like they would be safe. Even though they were in independent living, they would provide the call button if they needed something right away. It was not free of charge. But, in the end, that made me feel secure, even though they were going to be independent living. The rooms had lots of light. They had a beautiful balcony off of the living room and sliders that led to the balcony. The kitchen was very roomy and would be easy for them to navigate around even for those with issues with walking or a walker. Their kitchen was just about as big as my kitchen in our current home, so, it was very nice. The closet space was roomy with plenty of room for their personal items. It had an in-service laundry room that was right above the kitchen. It was like the brochure says, beautiful."

"The apartments were roomier and very nice. The lady who did the tour was very professional. She showed us two different options and just what we needed to see. The dining area was also really spacious and very nice. There are daily activities all the time. Once a month they have get-togethers and then special occasions, like going out to eat at different places or to watch movies."

"I just moved into Attivo Trail. It's 55-plus apartments. So far, I really like it. My apartment is beautiful. Everything is new. I really like it. It's very beautiful. I have a view of the front entrance. I see beautiful flowers and a fountain that's going continuously. I can see ponds out in the distance with wild geese; it's very pretty. Their amenities are much better than where I came from. Other than the fact that we can't use some of the amenities because of COVID-19, we have a room where you can go for refreshments 24/7, we have a dining room where you can go for coffee or a meal on Wednesday morning, we have an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and we have a beautiful backyard lounging areas where there are chairs, chaise lounges, and a fire pit. We had live entertainment the other night. Everyone is very polite and helpful. The food is very good. So far, we have not been able to experience many activities other than distance gathering; we can't play cards or anything like that yet."

"I went to Meadowview of Clive. It's the cheapest of the other places that we have visited. It's more affordable. I like the two-bedroom-one-bath. As for the staff, Susan seems to be a nice lady. She's a good manager. The place is something that we liked."

"West Park 55+ Retirement Community is a double-wide manufactured community. I don't have any problems with it. We are in our own home. I can mow my yard if I want to, and I can do snow removal if I want to. They have a community room. The people can go play games if they want to. The physical condition of the community is good. It's clean, other than having dirty snow. The lady that runs the park is the manager, and she is nice. They have some programs too. When we moved in here, the value for money was great, but they're slowly raising our rent a lot."

"Facilities better than others in the area. Well trained staff, a great chef and delightful menus and food. Includes highly regarded Care Center and Assisted Living facilities. Deerfield is a Life Care Community with Friendly and Caring Residents. Located on 50 acres, with a lake and connected to the most beautiful walking trails in the area. You can view an active Eagles nest, Heron rookery, deer, and waterfowl to name a few in walking distance. We love it. "

"Woodlands Creek is an exceptional retirement community! My parents chose to retire here and lived many years in the Independent Living Apartments before moving to Assisted Living. Later, my sister needed more help and moved directly into the Assisted Living Apartments where she received excellent care in a loving atmosphere. When it was time for my mother-in-law to move closer to family, we toured several retirement communities. We were excited when she chose Woodlands Creek also. She is able to enjoy a beautiful apartment within a meticulously maintained building. She looks forward to delicious meals and fun activities with great new friends. We don't need to worry about her. We know staff is there to support residents and there is security 24 hours a day in case of emergencies. A part time nurse supports residents and serves as wellness coordinator. She can relax and enjoy life and we can also, knowing she is safe and happy. We are so grateful to have Woodlands Creek Senior Retirement Community in the Des Moines area!"

"My brother will be moving into Cedar Ridge Village. It's brand new. It's out where all the big stores are, the mall, and the places to eat, and the price for what you get was the best value. The staff was very outgoing and went out of their way to help you find your needs. The room was nice and has a nice patio that overlooks the land. The dining area was very clean, very formal, and pleasant. The people that we've had in contact with were very nice. They had an underground garage, a library, and a fitness area."
