Other than that, it is a comfortable place. There are activities here and meals are included in a monthly payment or you can opt to buy if you would like. They have very nice homes to purchase if you would like. They also have a fitness center, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a sports bar, and a lot of activities going on. They have outside pickleball courts that they just built and just a number of items that are beneficial primarily for the independent people."

"South Hills Senior Living was very comfortable. I found that independent living almost seemed to have a standard for their size rooms and their kitchenette areas and such, so I felt they were all comparable to each other. I don't believe they had health care, so it was another one you could bring in your own if you needed. I met very pleasant people who were very helpful in answering questions and such."

"We haven't been able to go in and tour much of Rosewood Estates. We saw the place that we're moving into. Everybody was very friendly. I think it's a very pretty setting, and it's kind of set back but not on the hills exactly. The land is kind of down by the cornfields. It kind of feels like the country to us, so we will be happy there, I'm sure. We were showed the room and we picked it, but as far as taking us around and touring everything there, we just saw the main dining room, the kitchen, and some of the rooms on the second floor. But it wasn't a real tour because of COVID. The administrator and the lady we've been talking to there were both wonderful and friendly, and they have kept us abreast of things going on. We're all happy with it. We're going to get three meals a day there, and I've heard really good things about the food. We just kind of went straight through and went to the place that we picked, so we really didn't get to see a lot. I think we'll be happy there."

"This place is the best, the staff are very friendly and helpful to the residents. The overall appearance of the facility is clean. In many facilities like this, there is usually a bad odor in the air, much like urine. In this facility this was not the case. The facility has it's own pool for use, a fully loaded sensory room, more than adequate space for common and dining areas, and an overall sense of professionalism. From the clients that I have had interactions with, they all seem very content with the services that they are provided, and their opportunity for community outings occurs frequently. "

"Westview Estates Reinbeck was very clean. There was a single bedroom, a two-bedroom, and a dining hall that they could go to. It was newer and locally owned. They have meals available, garages, a beauty/barber shop on site, an elevator, a nice indoor area, and outdoor patios for family gatherings. They even have a gazebo that you can walk out to and a room where it's all windows that you could look out to. The residents had their apartments open so you could go in and talk to them, and even down in the dining hall area, you could talk to people. The residents seemed to enjoy the place."

"My mother has moved into Parker Place. It is great. The staff members are tremendous. I have no complaints with them at all. I can email them, I can text them, and I can call them anytime and ask any questions. My mom's room is very spacious. They provided most of the furniture; they provided the bed and the dresser. Because of COVID, I was only allowed in my mother's room once, the day we moved in. It was very clean. The staff member helped me put all of her things away. They helped me unload my car into her room. From what I have seen, I have no complaints. They went above and beyond for the family to help with the transition."

"Arlington Place of Oelwein had a very nice setup. It's roomier than the other place, but their hallways were shorter. It seemed more spacious yet more compact. It's not so spread out. Their studio apartments were nice. There was a little kitchenette, no stove or anything, but they had a refrigerator, microwave, and countertop. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. You can have a hairstylist come in whenever. They have their own salon there and physical therapy onsite. What I liked about it is there's a walking trail right out the front door pretty much, and if I wanted to go pick Mom up and take her for a walk, they had a nice paved trail to go on."
