"The tour we had at Birdee Cottage Assisted Living & Memory Care was good. It was very clean and had a very new feeling. The patio was very pretty. They've got some flowers and pumpkins. It was just very pleasant out there. We liked that it's kind of small and that it's family-oriented. The people seemed to be very nice. The staff who assisted us was very, very pleasant and knowledgeable. They could furnish the room for you if you want, or you can bring in your own stuff. The one thing that was kind of off putting is we didn't see any of the other residents around."

"My dad was a resident of the memory care unit of Parker Place. I don't think they have enough staff for the level of care he needed. My mom would have to shave him or do some of his personal care because we've observed that they didn't seem to have enough staff. The dining area was fine, and I would see them do one activity a day maybe. My first impression was that it looks like a very good community. The staff was fine."

"Arlington Place of Grundy Center is very nice and very modern. It would meet my dad's needs. It still would allow someone to have some privacy, but yet, I didn't have to worry about my dad falling and somebody not finding him. It is very good. I like the place. The staff members were very courteous, very nice, and very helpful. They were outstanding. The rooms were very nice, up-to-date, and clean. They offer a lot of amenities."

"Arlington Place of Oelwein had a very nice setup. It's roomier than the other place, but their hallways were shorter. It seemed more spacious yet more compact. It's not so spread out. Their studio apartments were nice. There was a little kitchenette, no stove or anything, but they had a refrigerator, microwave, and countertop. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. You can have a hairstylist come in whenever. They have their own salon there and physical therapy onsite. What I liked about it is there's a walking trail right out the front door pretty much, and if I wanted to go pick Mom up and take her for a walk, they had a nice paved trail to go on."
