"We went to Jennings Terrace, and we liked it. The place looks good, but my mother-in-law is not yet ready. We toured both assisted and independent living. The independent living looks a little bit better, but both places are nice. It looks like the people who run it are very nice. Everybody is very kind over there. The staff who toured us was very nice. She took us all over the place. She was very helpful. The place itself is old, but well-maintained. Of course, it would be better if the place was a little bit newer, but it's fine. You can go and sit outside in the park, so it's a nice place."

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"My parents are moving into Sunnymere, and I was very happy with it. The people working there are very nice and smiling, informative, and caring. The building was kinda old, but it was well kept up. The rooms were a little small, however, I can live with that. I like the activities with them every day, they're always able to go into the general activity room. They have two coordinators, one that gives the exercise to do, and another one that goes around to assist them when needed, and they have a lot of different activities as far as playing games and so forth, and just so many different things that I was very impressed with."

"My sister is here. We are very impressed with two things. One, with the physical facility. We find it to be a first-rate facility, but more important than that, we're very impressed with the people there. Everyone is very caring, kind, patient and helpful. We like both the facility and the staff. I have eaten there on two different occasions and I can tell that they're very well-fed. My sister does little discussion groups and playgroups where they throw beach balls around and have some fun with them. They have entertainment that comes in. They have concerts right there in the facility from time to time. It's very impressive."

"My parents have been at Brookdale Glen Ellyn for three years now; two years in Independent Living and almost 1 year in Assisted Living. I have nothing but good to say about this facility. The staff truly cares about their residents and they are very attentive to my parents needs. When I have a concern it is immediately addressed and the staff really works with me to find the best solution for my parents. There was a time when I was afraid that circumstances would require my parents to move, and I appreciated how the management was willing to talk through the details and work with me to try to help my parents be able to stay. The facility is always neat and clean, and the many events they plan always give the residents something to do if they so desire. My parents rave about the food and constantly tell me "We just love it here". It's wonderful to have them at a place they love and I feel confident and good about. "

"It was the one I liked. The whole place was impressive, big, and had a beautiful lobby. The person that took me around and showed me the room was a very nice, friendly lady. I had a good feeling about the place. They had bingo, cards, a ping-pong table, Wii bowling, and a pool. People came in to entertain the patients by singing or just talking. They just had everything there. They served three meals a day. You could drive to doctors if you had a car, but they also had a shuttle that took people to their doctors’ appointments, Wal-Mart, or Walgreens."

"My mother-in-law was at Lexington. She had her own apartment. She was only in the assisted living the last couple of weeks before she passed. We were very happy with everything there. The rooms were clean. They were a good size. The staff was very good. I like how they treated my mother-in-law. They were wonderful to my mother-in-law, and they were wonderful to our family. She was happy with the food. It was very nice, and we had a bridal shower there. Once a week or twice a week, they took them shopping if they wanted to go. They had entertainment, exercise classes, cards, and clubs. They would do field trips to different places. "

"I moved to The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. I chose it because of its location. The rooms are large and completely reconditioned. They have activities, but I haven't been yet. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The food is very good. They keep the facilities clean. For the value, I'm thinking that I am paying a little bit more."

"We had an in-person tour of The Grand at Twin Lakes. I highly recommend this facility. It was absolutely beautiful, but it was far more expensive. The director who gave us the tour was very helpful in answering our questions and showing us several different room options and amenities, including a movie theater and a swimming pool. The amenities that the facility had were really impressive. Everything was laid out beautifully and very appealing."

"Concord Place has many amenities. It's got a large restaurant and pretty good rooms. They give you a variety and the price appears to be one of the lowest I've surveyed so far. They have an exercise room, a pool room, and large community rooms. It seemed to be well cared for. It was clean and orderly. They seemed to have a good management structure."

"My husband and I liked The Grand Victorian of Sycamore. When we first looked there, we liked the place. It was clean. It was pleasant. We liked the rooms that they had there. They were nice and spacious. The care was there. I don't think the cost of it was that bad. It was within standard reason of the cost of any assisted living facility. The landscaping was good. Security was good. We had no complaints about it. The structure was pleasant. They had the cafeterias, eating area, and the lounging areas were nice. The decor was pleasant. It was more of like green and white color-type stuff. They had a patio out in the back and it was nice. We had a comfortable feeling when we went in there. The staff that we met was pleasant, very informative, and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction, cost wise and services available and rooms and things like that. They're extremely pleasant, and they seemed to be caring for the people that were there. It's not oversized. I don't know how many residents they have there, but it wasn't overly packed. It wasn't at a point where it was uncontrollable as far as having too many patients there. We're really satisfied with them. They had plenty of activities there for the seniors who wanted to get involved in them. The structure was very pleasant to see and be in."

"American House had a lot of features that we needed. It was very nice and clean. We were able to get a ground floor unit, which was important to me because we had a little dog. They had a lot of things to do, and we ate a couple of times; the food was good. "
