I am beyond grateful for the the nursing staff and administration at East Ridge. My dad was a patient at East Ridge, first for the rehab facility. Amazing team! they pushed my dad to do therapy. Very sweet team that took their time and accommodated to my dad's impairments to assess the therapy. Unfortunately my father has a terminal illness and did not improve with the program but not because East Ridge efforts. My father was then placed in hospice (as recommended by his specialist) at this facility. They took extraordinary care of him. Not one time did I find my father dirty or not fed. Everyday I received a report from the nurses on his well being. They all treated my father with love. Admin helped with the Dr's appointment scheduling, hospice process, I did not have to worry about paperwork, only care of my dad. Sometimes we as family get frustrated and want everything to be resolved "yesterday", but please remember that is not only one patient they take care of and we all wish to receive the same attention. Also the food is not bad. This place always smelled nice and was clean. Their patients looked happy doing activities. I am the only family member that was helping in the care of my father, could not have done it without the help of East Ridge. If I could the rating would be 10 Stars

The staff at East Ridge was very nice, very helpful, and very comprehensive. I particularly looked at that community because they are all on one level; it is all single little houses. I don't want to have a high-rise apartment. They also have a garden which I like. It's very nice. The upkeep was very good. They have four or five different care options you can go to, like living on your own and getting a 2-bedroom or you can go to assisted living. They sort of covered all bases.

East Ridge at Cutler Bay has a beautiful setting and is fairly new. Everything is well kept up and comfortable when you enter. I feel good about their staff in terms of the nurses and CNAs. The food is pretty good although some things are better than others. You can choose to eat in your room or go to the dining room. They have opportunities for interaction with the residents. They have church services, on-site and off-site programs, music, and a pool; there's a myriad of activities all throughout the day. The rooms are an ample size and you can decorate as you're able to. The grounds are beautiful, and the community is in a residential area so it's quiet. The ecurity is excellent, and they have a guard at the gate who keeps track of people coming and going. They also have the skilled care side which is good for when you need to transition, a nice therapy department, and a nice rehab floor which is appealing.

Although the facility is gorgeous they are understaffed and the doctor is a ghost. If you are well and do not need medical care, perfect, if you need medical care, find someplace else that the nursing staff is not watching Netflix or sitting on their behinds and not answering the call button. They are disorganized and the patient care manager has a major attitude problem. It is a shame, because the place is truly spectacular.

We visited East Ridge Retirement Village, and we were very impressed with the facilities, but we felt it was rather too expensive for us. We were shown two apartments; both had two bedrooms, and they had been newly decorated. I myself preferred a bath to a shower. Apparently, they were all showers, and all the toilets were wheelchair heights, which I didn't find comfortable, but those were just my preferences. The staff seemed helpful, and they spent a lot of time showing us around. They showed us the gym, and there was man watching television and walking on a treadmill there. There were people in the library. One was doing the jigsaw puzzle, and the other people were reading. They had a computer room and an auditorium. They showed us the menu, and I had been to a luncheon that they organized in a hotel a few weeks earlier, which I imagine would be typical with what the residents would be eating. The food was very nice. One thing with East Ridge, you pretty much buy your apartment, and then you pay a monthly fee in addition. It was independent living, you transition to assisted living, and then you transition to full care when you're really old. I liked it very much, but I don't think I could afford it, unfortunately. They had a swimming pool. They had nice landscaping with trees so you could walk around if you wanted to walk. It was very nice. I would certainly go if I could afford it. They had maid service once a week. They would change the linens and the towels.

My wife and I chose East Ridge because it is not in a hotel-like setting, so we feel we have a lot more privacy. It is like a little house, and it is bigger than the house that we had before. The grounds are beautiful, and we felt so peaceful and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and kind. Both of us have walking problems, and the house is built that it goes kind of straight through, so there is nothing really to block our way about getting around things. It is very easy to move in. It was built with wheelchairs in mind. There are Bingo and Bridge games. We are theater goers, and there is a regular bus that goes to the theater every Sunday. There are movie nights, birthday nights, and a lot of lectures. There are meeting groups discussing spiritual things. Our house has lovely flowers in the front. On the back, there is a screened in porch, and on the other side right next to it, there is a palm forest. It is like we're on vacation the whole time. It was really perfect.

East Ridge Retirement Village is a 72 acre gated community with 24-hour security. Everything is provided from independent living, to assisted living, to a nursing home. My mother has a one bedroom apartment with a huge private screened porch. Their dining room is fantastic with their great service. They have a varied menu. My mother likes their activities such as exercises and movie nights. They take the residents to church and field trips. They have everything you would ever want. It is a wonderful place. I would highly recommend it!

This nursing home is located in the back/off road area near Old Cutler Rd. This is good because there is not alot of thru traffic, which can be bothersome for some people. There is a nursing home section and cottage like homes. I did not get to experience the cottages. The funny thing is there are random peacocks that walk around the grounds. At night the faciltiy is locked up, with door alarms. However to venture outside it could be pretty scary and dark after hours. I found the staff to be overall pleasant. The rooms are spacious for sharing. The cnas visited a few times for the night, making sure to turn and clean up the patient. Im not sure how the activities are set up in the daytime, but the residents are all dressed and assisted out of there rooms. I did see a few residents sitting in the hallway. I dont know if they were waiting to be transported or were going sit there all day. I did notice the patients were covered up and dressed, so as to not expose them and had cushions where needed in the chairs. One lady they said has been there for over 5 years, smiled at me and would reach out her hand as anyone walked by And the staff did obliged her and hold her hand. It was pretty funny because she did it to the CNA as she went back and forth with the breakfast trays. Facility is average as far as decor but the staff really makes up for it with the small things they do for the residents.
