"Southern Living for Seniors was very friendly. It has a very warm atmosphere, and it was very clean. The staff who gave me the tour was very, very friendly and knowledgeable, and helpful. She was just a very pleasant person. I believe they do very well with someone who is fairly able to get around and help themselves. They had a courtyard but there's no salon or gym, but they have somebody that comes in to do hair if you want."

"We visited the Grand Cypress Assisted Living Facility. The location was great. The director that we met was excellent in giving us information about the facility. We're just not comfortable with the atmosphere for my mother. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere of the facility, but with her condition and background we just didn't feel that it would be a good fit for her. She'd be more than they could handle because she was getting to the point where we were having our hands full taking care of her and maintaining her. The rooms were laid out very well. We saw several different options. They had a lot of activities. I don't remember if they had a couple of game tables but they had TV. They had a lot of games on the weekends and they'd all get together. They have a really nice activity room."

"My mom is happy at WillowCreek Assisted Living. We go there quite often, and we think that it's gonna be a good fit. They're doing laundry and meals, it's a secure facility so they can't get out. They help her with bathing and going to the bathroom. It depends, if she has a good day they leave alone; if she has a bad day, they give total care. With whatever she needs, they're totally flexible. They are watching her health, and if there's any change in her health, they call me immediately. She had to get to the hospital recently and they called me and let me know. They're very attentive, they communicate and they pay attention. The facility is kind of neat. It's built like a log cabin and has a very nice layout. They keep it clean and they stay on top of it. The food is nice, I've been there when they eat and it's really nice food. If she wants anything, she can get them at any time she wants, like coffee. Just get it right then. There's interaction, they're always talking. They keep them structured like at bedtime and mealtime. It's kind of like herding cats sometimes, but they do try to keep their life very structured. What I like most about the location is that it's not in the middle of town, so it's easy to get to. There's not a lot of traffic. But it's also very close to the nearest hospital, maybe five minutes from the hospital, and that's an important thing. So that's probably the biggest plus, it's access to emergency care. The staff is very helpful."

"My sister just moved into the memory care unit of The Canopy of Harper Lake. I love this place. I like everything about it. I like the staff, the nurses, and all the people. It's just a wonderful, wonderful place. Everything is good and I highly recommend it to anybody."

"My brother was a resident in this facility for a few years. The staff appeared very warm and concerned, nevertheless, he died of neglect after contracting a cold which turned into pneumonia and led to respiratory arrest and death. The staff did not seek any medical care until he fell unconscious and died."

"WillowBrook Assisted Living was nice, but they felt it wasn't secure enough because my mom likes to wander. It was clean, it smells clean, and it looks more contemporary with the log cabin. It looks very nice and the staff there were very professional and friendly. It was a nice facility. It's very spacious. Their rooms look good, they're very nice and are fairly new. It looks like they've recently remodeled and were just doing the finishing touches. It's located downtown, not in the middle of town, and still kind of out of the way. It's farther from the hospital than the other community, but it's in a quiet area and it wasn't noisy. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions, she pretty much-covered everything before you even had to ask questions, and we only had a few. She went everywhere and showed us everything; she knew what she was doing. And she was very professional, very courteous, and very sympathetic."

"My dad is in Baptist Village Lake Park. The food is good. It is clean. The nurses take really good care of him. Overall, you cannot beat the price. The rooms are big. They have laundry service and everything else that he requires. The people working there are great, always cheerful, and helpful. He really likes it. I like that he is happy. "

"My dad has moved to the Robert H. Jenkins Jr. Veterans' Domiciliary Home and it's been great. It's a state-run facility, if you're looking for a place that's strictly for veterans, it's a great place. They take really good care of the vets there and my father has fit in well there. He's gotten more interaction at this place than he had when living in his condo by himself. In there, he actually runs movie nights. There are a lot of activities there, they take them out, and they go places and do different stuff for the veterans. There's a lot of freedom from the veterans that live there, it's a nice place. I feel that my dad has improved his quality of living since going there. They also do a church thing during the week, they have a church group, they have activities with board games, some people were building models there, sometimes they take them out to see a movie, and sometimes they go on day trips. Once, they took them on a day trip to Saint Augustine to see the old Spanish fort there. They took them on other day trips, they do activities and little adventures like that. They have a calendar that they put out each month with their plan for doing things, so it's pretty neat. They have a gym, they have paths outside, and a big courtyard you could walk around outside. Then they have laundry facilities and you can also do your laundry, and the machines are free, you don't have to pay for the bleach and stuff. You just put your clothes in the machine and press a button, and it dispenses the bleach and soap for you, so you don't have to do anything. The value is worth what you pay."
