"I like the marketing director at Springtree Senior Living. She was very pleasant, very professional, and nice to talk to. It is big. It's a 140-people community. I didn't like the accommodations so much because they have four people in four different corners, but then in the center of it all, there is a common living room. To get out of the apartment, they have to get through that living room. Out of these four-people apartments, two were studios and two were single rooms, but they were very small. Upkeep was excellent. The place looked excellent, nice and clean, and had no smells of any kind. It was very welcoming. They had a beauty parlor and an exercise area. They were good enough to give me copies of their menus, so I can share them with my sister. I think it was a pretty good-sized dining room. I just didn't particularly care for that big community. I thought a smaller community feels homey."

"I live in Villa Rio Vista. It's a very nice place. They let me handle my medications a little bit more freely than most places because I work a job, and I have to take them with me. They don't require me to be here when they give them to me. They leave them in a package, and then I take them when I come home from work a little bit later at night. We're free to come and go as we please. I like that we're located near stores, Jimmy John's, Burger King, and Dunkin' Donuts. We also live near a Walgreens. It is centrally located. We have an extra TV room. I don't take part in much of the activities, but we have that. We have upstairs and downstairs. It's not quite like a house. It was converted from an apartment building to assisted living. It's probably the nicest one in this town. The staff is excellent. They always take care of us and always ask if we need help. If someone has a little trouble going out and getting sodas or something, the staff will buy the sodas. He'll go out of his way to make sure we're happy. The facility is excellent, and it's landscaped nicely. It's lovely. I think it's worth the money because utilities are included, and we have a refrigerator in our room, TVs, and an extra activities room. I just think this place is top-notch. They treat me well."

"My dad is in HarborChase of Tamarac. They specialize in memory care, and I was able to negotiate the price. We've only been there for about a week. The staff seems to be pretty caring, and they look after him. The management and sales office staff seem to be very nice, and that's why we chose them. My wife says the food is OK. The place is pretty basic because of the type of people that they bring in. They do have a library, a piano, TV, and entertainment."

"The staff at Cherry Oak Active Senior Living Residence was very nice. The facility was very clean. The memory care section was adequate. They had a movie room, arts and crafts, and a beautiful garden outside. The dining room was lovely."

"We visited the independent living community of Independence Hall. It's an older building, but it's very nice and they have renovated the entire place. The staff was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. We had lunch there, too, and the food was excellent. The rooms themselves were very nice. We looked at a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom apartment. You bring your own furniture in."

"I toured Williamsburg Landing. The experience was great. The community seemed to be very caring. Every staff member I encountered was very nice and smiled when I approached. The dining room area was nice and clean, and right across from it was the community center where they did the activities, which looked very nice. I saw a studio apartment and a one-bedroom. They were spacious and good for one person. The staff was fantastic."

"Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale was five miles from our house. It's all a beautiful location. The food was great. There was nothing we didn't like about it. The floor plans were also great. The building amenities were good with the gym and the pool and they overlooked the coast. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. We have all kinds of brochures that the woman gave us. She was excellent. Cleanliness was fine. It was beautiful. It was the nicest place we've seen out here. There's no question about it."

"We toured Oakmonte Village of Davie. It was very new, like less than five years old. It was very much like a five-star hotel. It was beautiful. In all the different buildings, they had a piano with a bar area, and they had 4:00 pm happy hours. As we were leaving, we saw the shuttle come and people getting on the shuttle. We walked by a class that they were doing, sort of a chair yoga class. We loved everything about it except that it's a little far from my house and my mom's worried about that. The sales staff that took us around knew all the financials and these kinds of things, but he didn't necessarily represent a tour."

"The Meridian at Waterways is where I would want to go if I needed to go somewhere. I was extremely happy with it. They are a rather new development. It's right on a major waterway. The views are fantastic. The dining is on the seventh floor, and you have views of the ocean and the waterway. It just appealed to me immensely. There's beautiful artwork in the common areas and the hallways. It was nice. The staff was fantastic. I met with the chef and he explained the meals that they prepare and the fact that if you have a favorite recipe from your family, you bring it in and he will prepare it. If you have a favorite cookie recipe, he will make cookies for you. It was just a good feeling. It was beautiful. The rooms are reasonably sized. The only comment I would have is the windows in the various rooms seem to be small, but then when you're in your room, I don't think you stand around looking out the window. I would like larger windows, but they are what they are. There's the ease of parking. The entryway has a beautiful sculpture as you enter the lobby. They have a nice receptionist and receiving area. The hallways are not long and hotel-like. They seem to be very short. All in all, I was very very impressed with it."
