I lived at Edgewater Pointe Estates. It's a lovely, luxurious place, and it's expensive. They have an extensive gym and they have all activities except tennis and golf. They have one meal in the independent living portion and three in the assisted living section. There's laundry on every floor, and pickup and delivery as well. It's a perfect place. I'm going there for the holidays this weekend.

We drove for hours to check this place out because it had gotten some good reviews. However, we found the opposite when we got there. The noise is a huge issue, which immediately makes it a 2-star place. They also have a real bad iguana problem; we saw them everywhere. The grounds are not being taken care of properly. The pond on the side of the building smells like rotten sewage and is covered with a slick. Most of the staff was relaxing and did not seem to be working at all. Some were hiding. Residents warned us about the noise level. We were so disappointed because we made a journey to get there.

As someone who values care, respect, and tranquility for our elderly citizens, I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Edgewater at Boca Pointe Nursing Home. We had high hopes when we moved our loved one into this facility, but our expectations were shattered by the reality of the situation. To begin with, the constant racket from the facility's golf carts is unbearable. These aren't your typical, quiet golf carts; they backfire with a frequency and volume that is disconcerting. The serene ambiance of Boca Raton is overwhelmed by the discordant sounds from these vehicles, which is the exact opposite of what we hoped for our family member's peaceful retirement. More disconcerting are the early morning races that some of the staff engage in. Instead of focusing on their responsibilities, they use the facility's walkways as their personal racetracks. This not only creates an unnecessary ruckus but also poses a potential safety risk. It is both unprofessional and shocking that such behavior is allowed in an institution supposed to provide compassionate care. Furthermore, our observations indicate that many of the staff members spend more time racing these noisy golf carts than they do providing the care and attention that our elderly loved ones require. This blatant disregard for their duties and the wellbeing of the residents is unacceptable. Edgewater at Boca Pointe has become the loudest place in Boca Raton, thanks to these antics. What was supposed to be a quiet, nurturing environment for our elderly loved one has turned into a constant source of irritation and distress. We regret choosing Edgewater at Boca Pointe for our family member. This facility falls short of providing the peaceful, respectful environment that our elders deserve. The consistent noise, the reckless behavior of the staff, and the lack of proper care paint a picture of a nursing home that is far from ideal. I hope this review can serve as a caution for others considering this facility. The environment at Edgewater at Boca Pointe is, sadly, not conducive to the wellbeing of its residents. Our seniors and their families deserve much, much better.

Edgewater Pointe Estates looked pretty good. The place was nice and pleasant, and there were no problems. The room was very nice and had activities, like cards, exercise, and a swimming pool. The lunch was good.

I visited Edgewater. The people were very friendly and mobile. It like a high rise becuase it was a 10-story building and had more of a resort feel. Everything looked sharp. It was in a nice area. I went there unannounced, but when I walked in the lobby, people met me. The rooms were a little bit more modern and brand new.

I went through all the medical things and all of the interviews at Edgewater Pointe. But they were very nice about it, and I was comfortable with it. However at the very end, they gave me something that I thought was nasty. A registered nurse came in and said, “I’m going to ask you some questions and ask you to do some things,” and that went nicely. And then at the end, she said to me, “Here’s a paper and a pencil. Can you make a circle? I want you to put numbers around the circle.” So I started to write 1,2,3,4, and we came out of there. And then, shespoke with the director of the program and came out and said, “I’m so sorry, but we can’t accept you here at Edgewater.” I asked why, and she said, “Well, the reason is that you were supposed toput a 1 at the top, 15 a quarter of the way around, the number 30 at the bottom, then 45, and then back to 1 again. Well, I had no idea that that’s what she wanted. She just said put numbers around the circle. The manager of the entire place and I got to be friendly. It was a nice thing and she said, “I really wish you can stay here but I have to abide by what the nurse said, and they said you can’t be here because you did the wrong thing with the numbers.” That was horrible. And also my home where I live now is directly across the street and one city block from my family, so it would have been very nice for my family and I to be a 10-minute walk apart; it would have been terrific. I was ready to give them the deposit immediately and I was willing to do anything because it’s across the street and I thought it would be fine. I would not recommend them because one particular person, who thinks that she is that important, was able to keep me out of there. Edgewater was OK. It was clean. They were doing some renovations and there were a lot of people putting down flooring and hanging up curtains and things, except that they allowed that one nurse who said that I didn’t think that the numbers would be from a clock, so I had to walk out of there. I think the price is too high, even if it was $5, for the way I was treated. So I would never recommend it to anyone.

The next one that I liked was Edgewater Pointe. They had very nice grounds that you could walk around. It was a gated community, and they had a very nice foyer when you walked around. There was information that’s right there, somebody could help you right away, and they had a big open area that you could see and visit. It was just a very pleasant place, the apartments were very nice, and we walked all around the independent as well as the assisted; that’s what we were looking for independent, assisted, and nursing home. The chap who assisted us was very nice and knowledgeable.

They selected Edgewater Pointe Estates. It's independent, and that progresses when you need it to assisted and long term care. The apartment that they chose was a 2-bedroom/2-bath. The food is wonderful. There are dozens and dozens of things for them to participate in. They have absolutely gorgeous grounds. It's really beautiful. The apartment is large. The 2-bedrooms are actually suites themselves, and the people who helped us get the rooms were very attentive but not pushy, just extremely nice people.

My mother was severely injured in a car accident 2 weeks after moving into Edgewater. They told her she could be cared for at Edgewater. After enduring a painful ambulance ride, Edgewater turned her away and she never returned. She had paid almost $100,000 as a co-resident. Do you think Edgewater, returned a dime to the family? Nope. Edgewater kept it all. Almost $100,000 for 2 weeks! They used the excuse of a sentence in the contract. This place has no ethics. Buyer beware!!

Edgewater Pointe Estates is a very nice place. It has facilities for independent living, assisted living, and I think for Alzheimer's patient also. I was there very briefly, but I can see that everybody was very nice. They just don't seem to have a lunch facility. It was just a small cafeteria wherein you stand in line to get your food and that did not appeal to me.

I liked the Edgewater Pointe Estates. I got into a couple of their rooms and they were very nice. The best things about it were the atmosphere and their activities. But I don't know if I can really afford it. The monthly rent costs about $3,000 a month and they wanted you to buy in at $100,000. That's what turned me off there. To me, it was like they're selling me a condo at an inflated rate, and I don't even get to own the unit because I still have to pay rent. One thing that kept me from not moving in there was I didn't think they really have much to offer in terms of skilled nursing. It was more of a retirement apartment.

This facility is located in Boca Raton and is a fully secured facility. Security and limited access to different parts of the facility leads me to believe that security is the utmost priority of the administrators of the facilities. The main lobby is absolutely breathtaking and theatrical. The facility even has on display a remembrance area for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Behind all the glitz and glamour, it's a very typical retirement home but overall it's very nice.

They're very, very good and very kind. He has a lot of friends there, but it's 1500 miles away, so it's not a place where I can get to him, and he has no other relatives there.
