My husband was in Avon Health Center for rehab twice before. The first time was back in July, and at that time my husband, was more lucid, so it was OK. The second time he was there, which was in the beginning of this year, the overall care was still four stars. The reason I give them a four is because I had to hire private services to be with him because he’s a high fall risk, so someone needs to be with him all the time. He was one of two in the room, and they shared a bathroom. The hallways were fine. They had rails on the walls to assist people who are able to manage in a wheelchair, so they can pull along the wall to get where they wanted to go. The food was not very appetizing. Many times, it was almost cold because there were other sections of the facility that my husband was not a part of and those people were served their meals first. And so, by the time they got around to my husband’s section, which was the last, the food was lukewarm and not tasty. They do need a lot of improvement to make the meals more interesting. The staff people were OK.

Staff are energetic and caring, the food is fresh and healthy, entertainment activities are fun, facility is clean, patients are clean and seem well cared for. A blessing to have my mom here.
