I don't feel that Thomas Park is going to be a good fit for my husband. It's very small and they don't have enough staff for what he needs. I feel like he needs a lot more help than what they could give him. They have 16 residents living there and only two staff members during the day. They have somebody there 24/7, but I don't remember how many they have at night. The person who gave us the tour was very thorough and very pleasant. He was very informative. The maintenance seemed fine. It was clean, but the rooms were just small.

My father went with me when we looked at Thomas Park. They made them in a park, so when you walk out the door, you can go right to the park area. They have swing sets and all the climbing and stuff for the kids there. My father likes to walk, so that's one of the reasons why I picked that area for him. He could walk around that path that there is in that neighborhood. It was the manager that gave my father and me the tour. One thing I liked about it was that everything was brand new. What we were seeking for my dad is a single room, they had three available and so we picked out one for him. It was nice looking in there. It had a park right outside your door, so if the residents wanted to go out for a little walk in the grass, enjoy the trees, or watch the families at the park on the weekend, they can do that. The residents also had a trail that went around the block, so you could walk that sidewalk and get back to the center, and that's something that my dad can do. The management was very friendly. I got to see memory care and assisted living. At that particular time that I toured their assisted living, there wasn't anyone in there. The facility was brand new. In memory care, there were people living there. The staff was very friendly and very understanding. We asked questions, and they were very knowledgeable about the facility and how they run things. I called the staff back and asked some more questions I had about the facility, and she was very knowledgeable and very understanding and answered everything. I looked at their dining area and everything seemed to be fine. They just about had everything all put together. Everything looked like it was brand new. Everything looked nice. The decor was very appealing. It looked like they went out of their way of decorating the walls. They had a fireplace. They had a big-screen television for the residents. At the time I went there, they were playing music for the memory care residents.

My friend will be moving into Thomas Park. I was very impressed with the tour, and I had a very favorable experience. I like that it was a friendly atmosphere. It was open and inviting. It was especially suited for people with some dementia because the layout was very simple and easy for them. I also like the fact that it was a home that had a small number of residents. It was really like a home setting. I'm hoping that it is going to work out for my friend. They have semi-private rooms, and they have a half bath in each room. They have some private room options, too. My friend will have a roommate. The furnishings are fairly simple, which is suited for that type of residence. It was just bright, clean, and inviting. The person who took us around was very professional, knowledgeable about all the amenities, and very accommodating. I actually took my children with me when I did that tour, and they also had a positive experience. I did see the menu, which looked like a very balanced menu. I did notice that the residents appeared to be very well nourished. Nobody looked ill. Everybody looked like they were content, and that was also what I wanted to see. It was pretty awesome. The facility was very clean and very pleasant. The layout looked like it was very efficient, like the shower room and where the medication cart was. It all looked like a very functional layout. It was quite nice.
