My wife Bobbie has been a resident for some time now, and the changes in her behavior have been tremendous. This owing to the staffs observance and the med. depts. concientiousness in working with her doctors, keeping prescriptions filled, and given on time. Dementia is very difficult to work, especially alzheimers, I know, I tried. It's hard to admit when someone can do better than you for the one you love, but I couldn't trust anyone more than the familt at Vista Prado. I've delt with assisted living and nursing homes with my parents and grandparents. But if you want the best memory care for your loved one, this is it.

My visit to Vista Prado was very good. The facility was clean and it had friendly staff. I liked that the residents were active during the day. They had activities going through the day and they were in a big common area to do those activities. They had wide hallways. The thing that stood out to me was that they try to keep the residents active and not just sitting in their rooms. The rooms were of ample size and very clean. The facility was nice. It had an outdoor area and a deck area, which was very nice. They had physical activities and creative activities. They also had music and arts.

Vista Prado, A Memory Care Community was like a community center. It was an old building but nice and clean. They have a garden in the front and some people were sitting there. The staff was nice. The room was OK. The place was nice. I liked the outside garden. It's nice and quiet. It's a quiet street. It's close to a hospital but I don't see any stores. I didn't see a salon or anything. The staff showed me one room, and that's it. The security was good.

I was able to go to their Valentine's party and visit my aunt, and I was impressed with the sense of fun everyone was having. The staff really stood out to me because they seemed like they had good rapport with each other and enjoyed their jobs. The rooms are cozy but nice with new floors, furniture, new bathrooms. It sounded like they renovated the community recently. As far as amenities, I did notice a big deck with tables and chairs that looks out over the park and a planted patio off the main area. I had a very enjoyable time with family, highly recommended.

I have my husband at Vista Prado. It's fine and he's getting along really well. I only go there twice a week and I know he's doing some of the activities. They get three meals a day. They help him get dressed, and he walks around a lot, so they watch him very carefully. The staff is very helpful. I ate there yesterday at lunch and it was cold by the time I got it, but they have staff members there that warmed it up for me. They have a microwave there and the food tastes good. He's eating everything, and he wasn't eating before he moved there. Since it's a new company that recently took over they're just getting started with activities. They have a new director that just started in January. They do what they can with them.

Caring staff focused on dementia and Alzheimer's care. A 35-min commute from work in Walnut Creek but only 15-20 min from Benicia.

My husband came from another facility that was assisted living and he got to a point where he needed more care so Vista Prado was recommended to me. When we took him there it was Camino Alto, then these new owners took over and then they're doing very well. It's homey with a more family atmosphere than a larger facility. It's also on one level only. There's eating and activity center in the middle where people gather. On each side when you walk down the hall, there are rooms for the people. It's not hard to get around. I'm happy with the work that they do and with the care that they give the residents. I have noticed change in some of them that are very down and grumpy. I know that they're more perked up and happier than they were before. There's a lot of laughing and fun going on now. There are times when there are special occasions like Halloween that I ate there. The food is good. I was very happy with it and my husband's happy too. It's very important that he never complained about the food. They have a lot of activities as well. There's a large calendar showing what's available. They have gotten a person that schedules that stuff specifically. There's mass on Sundays, bingo and constant entertainment. It's very nice that they invite us families to more and more activities. I'm very confident that they're going to do a very good job. When I leave, I know they're going to care for my husband and the other people that are staying there.

I'm happy with Vista Prado. They're working very hard to renovate the place right now. The layout is very nice, it's open. It's not fancy but it's very comfortable. I think what makes it comfortable is the people that are there. The staff is very caring and attentive. They keep a close eye on my mother which I really appreciate. They also have meals for family once a month. The food is delicious. It was really good when they served it to us. My mother is a picky but she's happy with the food. She eats well. If she didn't like it, she would not eat. So I'm guessing what they give the residents on an everyday basis is good also. It just changed hands recently so they're still working on their activities. The old owners would do the parachute games but I haven't seen the new owners do that. They do more of arts and crafts, memory games and bingo.
