Our population is mainly dementia clients/memory care. The age range currently is 62-101 years old although most are between 80-95 years old. Favorite things to do is sitting in garden, and participating in our movies on the patio.

We tailor our activities to our resident's needs. They range from bean-bag toss and chair exercises to arts and craft sessions to mellow group activities including watching classic movies and listening to nostalgic music.

We are near shopping on Montana Ave and a short 10 blocks to Palisades Park overlooking the ocean. We are one block from the grocery market and bank, close to the Post Office, and a few blocks from many different religious places of worship.

Gated community with door and window alarms. We use bed monitors and floor alarms when needed. Staff makes round at least every 30 minutes or as needed. Awake staff 24/7. We have two-person lifts available.

About Santa Monica Home Care
With 4 wonderful Care Homes to choose from right in the neighborhood, Gary Strathearn founded Santa Monica Home & Care in 1995 after a family member required hands-on care in a home-like environment and he couldn’t find adequate resources in Santa Monica or the surrounding area. What Makes Us Special
Gary (Ph.D. in Biogeochemistry) has been on the faculty at UCLA and Santa Monica College and also consults in design of medical devices. Jennifer has been with the facility since 2010 and has a degree in culinary arts, certifications in yoga instruction and is licensed in residential care as an administrator. Donna, our activity director, who retired a short time ago from the medical field (optometry) now spends the day in socialization and social skills while directing activities for the clients. Our final team member, Svetlana, began her career as a caregiver, then soon progressed to manager and administrator, and is now continuing her education to become a nurse.Get Costs
