"Mound Guest Home is a small assisted living facility set in a converted Victorian Home. Being set in an old Victorian house gives this assited living facility a comforting home-like feeling. The staff is exceptionally friendly and they treat patients with care and respect. Mound doesn't feel like a hospital; it feels like a home. Patients can enjoy quiet time in their room, go for a walk in the pretty garden, grab a snack from the staffed kitchen or sit in the living area and watch some television. Nightly staff guided activities liven up the place and promote a family like feel to the place. There are fancier assisted living facilities out there, but none of those places can top the experience at Mound. The Mound staff genuinely care about the residents and the whole place feels more like one big family than an assited living facility. It is a place where people thrive. "

"My mother has been in Ventura Townehouse for about nine years now. She loves it there, and I'm very impressed with the quality of care that they give everybody. They have a general cafeteria kind of place, but it's beautiful and it's a big dining place. They vary the menu every day. The staff there is fantastic and very caring. They know my mom by name, even though they're pretty young and there's a quick turnover. The young people who work there and the older, more experienced ones take pride in getting to know the residents. My mom has all the help she needs, but it's not invasive. It's not more than she needs. They have all kinds of activities, chair aerobics, games, bingo, and cards. They have all kinds of stuff, and they have special events and concerts there all the time, so it keeps her active. They have like a reward system where if they go to a certain number of activities, then they get what's called a buck, like Monopoly money. If they get 20 bucks, then they can invite a friend to lunch at the cafeteria place, so she's got a stack of those. Anytime we come up to visit, she's like, "Let's go to lunch at our place." She's still independent. Her apartment is lovely, and it's got fantastic storage, much more storage than I have in my condo. She's able to have her own things there. They're great and very easy to get along with. They have beautiful, well-maintained gardens, yards, and landscaping as well. The food is very good. The facilities are great as well. They try to encourage all of their seniors to stay active physically and socially. They also have a van that takes them to mass or church, and it also takes them shopping if they need to go shopping. It takes them all over and picks them up. It's just a well-run establishment. I'm pleased that she's there. She can afford it. It's very expensive, but she's in Ventura, and Ventura is expensive. I would say it's a good value. You get what you pay for, truly. It's not a bargain by any means, but she is getting fantastic quality of care as needed, and you can't put a price on that."

"I like The Bonaventure Senior Living. I was very impressed with it. I like the independence that they have, their dining room, and the services they provide. The staff was great. Their menu was impressive. The facility was excellent. The size of the rooms was fine. The atmosphere was very comfortable. The dining area was very nice."

"My mom has moved into The Palms at Bonaventure Assisted Living. They're very caring staff. They really encourage their residents to participate in different activities during the day. They're a little bit smaller than the community we came from. There's a lot more one-on-one attention. Very genuine, caring, compassionate care. I've had several meals, and the food is very good. They have options and work with the residents, so it's not just one thing. Regarding the facility, they are going through renovation, but they're almost done. It's beautiful and clean. New paint, new lighting, and new carpets are coming in. The rooms are big and clean. The floors are nice. We've only been there a month, but the value for money is worth it."

"My mother has advanced Alzheimer’s Dementia and has been a resident at Treacy/Ventura Villa for over 6 years. I have transitioned my mother through several facilities in Ventura County as her condition advanced. When she reached the stage where she required 24 hour supervision, I needed to find a facility that I could trust to care for her. I have worked in assisted living facilities for more than 10 years. So I was well aware of the options available to me. When I visited Treacy Villa I was very impressed with the ownership and the staff at that time. Since I moved my mother in, the care that she has received has been as good or better than anywhere she has been a resident. The caregivers who take care of her have become like family to me. Dora is very pro-active and attentive to my mom and I can always count on her. She is amazing! I visit at least once a week and even through the transition to new management, I have found the level of care has only gotten better. I realize how difficult it can be to care for elderly people in the latter stages of life and not everyone is capable of doing this work. I feel blessed and so thankful to everyone who is involved in providing the loving care to my mom."

"My grandmother is residing in the Blue Oak community. It is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. My grandmother is in a private room, and it is a good size for her. She doesn’t require much space anymore and due to her Dementia, so it is perfect. The home is always clean and smells good. The care team is really great. I’m always informed of everything going on regarding my grandmother’s care or even emotional state. The other nursing home my grandmother was in rarely every communicated with me , so it has been so wonderful to feel like I am on top of her care without having to chase information. I’ve toured all the communities and took the opening in Blue Oak as soon as it came up because I knew the care would be great as long as this was the team that cared for her. I cared more about placing my grandmother in the place where they they will treat and care for her well, rather than a larger facility which may be larger and has amenities but with not much care. Everyone’s needs are different in different stages in life, but I’m thankful for placing her in Blue Oak. Don’t hesitate to place our loved ones here. They will be in the kindest and most compassionate setting with great care "

"I went to Oakmont of Camarillo. Everything was very, very nice. They take them on field trips, and it's like all three of them that I have seen are pretty much all the same. It's going to come down to money and it's going to come down to where my children feel comfortable with. The staff is good. They were all very nice. We've been there three years, and two years ago because we have money down on the place, so we kept going to all of their activities and things thinking that we were going to be there. We went to some of their dinners and we heard a speaker once. It was very luxurious."
