They seem to be on top of everything. I am in a two-bedroom, there is one or two that are a three-bedroom, and they keep it clean -- the housekeeping staff comes in daily. The staff is very good and I like it here. They have arts and crafts, bingo, and people coming in from the outside, church services. I've been at the Golden Livingcenter since Christmas and I like it. It's pretty active in terms of the activities that they have for the residents. The dining area is pretty clean, but I don't care too much for the food.

The staff was very caring and communicated often concerning my relative's care. They were friendly and welcoming every time we came to visit the patient. I did question their expertise, however, as she had some health issues that were not acted on quickly enough. I did feel that the staff was attentive and took care of her basic needs very well. Meals and activities were well organized. I felt like the facility provided the best quality of life that they could for the patient. Coordination of medical appointments was done well. I did feel as if the amount of paperwork was a hassle, but that may be indivative of any assisted living facility. The patient rooms were fairly plain and resembled a hospital room. Overall, I would rate the facility as Average. The facility was accomodating to changes in healthcare of the patient and the coordination of all needed care. The largest personal issue that occured is some of the patient's clothing was lost. The facility did pay for the lost laundry, however, so we were satisfied with the result of othe issue. Things are bound to get lost in a large care facility.

Staff was friendly and treated my loved one with warmth and compassion, making her time at the facility a positive one for her at the end of her time. The facility left my family confident that our loved one would receive the best possible care during her stay.

These types of places are always depressing, but Golden Living Center in Galt, California hasn't treated my family kindly. The nurses were largely friendly at first, but after about two years, they had largely change the nursing staff who was caring for my grandparents. The new nurses were brusque and didn't speak any English. This is very difficult for my grandparents, because they only spoke English and my grandfather got very confused due to his Dementia. The problems only escalated from there. There was a constant confusing on the office's part of finances and we were overcharged or charged early a few times. This is very stressful for my father who works full time and has little time to help them beside paying their bills. When my grandmother died, my grandparents were rooming together, they left her in the same room as my grandfather for a few hours. We are not happy with our service, but we don't have the ability to mover her anywhere else. There is a lack of local living facilities nearby, and my grandfather is too high need to live at home with us.
