"My mom moved into CountryHouse - Folsom. It was small, dedicated to memory care, and it was a lock, secure facility, as far as locked and secure can be for a memory care facility. I was pleased with the training the staff has and they are very attentive to the residents. It's brand new. They have a monthly calendar, but they have weekly activities and daily activities. The food is excellent. They take them out, they have a beauty salon, they can do their nails, they bring in doctors. They were comparable to everyone else in amenities."

"My sister-in-law is currently at Oakmont of Folsom. It's very clean. I live quite a ways away, so I cannot go that often, but when I have gone there, I've seen that it's secure, and they seem to take care of the people. My sister-in-law has her hair/nails done. They used to take them out for a ride, but they don't do that anymore. I guess they don't have the right person to do it. It's expensive and not everybody can afford to go there. The staff is OK. They seemed to be caring, at least when we were there. They have different things going on. They have different people coming in and entertaining them, too."

"We are not at that point yet, but Brookdale Folsom would be the preference for us if my mother were to go into a facility. I liked it because they had a lot of activities and different functions that one could select from. It is a beautiful and very clean facility. The staff members were very helpful in answering questions. Overall, they put on a nice tour. They showed us different options of rooms, like an apartment versus a studio. They also took us into a unit that was being renovated, and it was very nice. One of the sales or marketing people took her time with us. She didn't rush us. She answered all our questions. Because this was our first time on this journey, she also brought up some very good points for us to think about. She followed up with phone calls, not to pressure us, but was like, "Hey, how's it going? What else can we do to help you?" We're very impressed. They would like us to bring my mother back over there when she gets out of the facility that she's in now. They wanted her to meet some people and have lunch with them, so that we could also sit down and have lunch. However, we didn't want any meal on the day we were there because we had just eaten. The place was so clean, and it smelled nice. It wasn't musky like some of them were. The way it is laid out is easier for someone who might not have all their faculties. Like they know how to get to the elevator, and they have assistance there. It is really good. I'm really impressed with it."

"My brother moved to Ponte Palmero. Everything is well-maintained. Everything is clean. The staff is incredibly friendly. The amenities for the people that live there are very up-to-date with a nice little workout room. They have a pool. They have a hot tub. They have a lot of activities going on regularly. They support community involvement and people getting out and getting to know each other. They're just very well managed and well cared for facilities for all levels. The food is very good. The dining area is excellent. It's a nice facility. It's probably the nicest one that I've seen."

"Pine Grove Residential Home Care for the Elderly is a care house that has six residents in it. It is very clean and very nice. It's a bit farther from my house. The owner was very nice. She sat down with us and talked to us for as long as we needed to ask questions, and she answered every one of them. However, I don't think that is the environment for my mom. Even though they have activities, there are not as many activities as the other place has. The staff member there is a cardiovascular nurse. There is also always somebody there. It's more of an intimate kind of setting versus a big, institutionalized kind of place. Everybody there seemed to be happy. However, I think my mom would thrive better in a community where she could have more options for activities. It's a beautiful setting. They showed us all the rooms; they showed us around the whole home. They introduced us to the people, too, and it was very nice. She didn't have any rooms available at the time, and that was okay because we didn't know when my mother was going to get out of the facility that she's in now."

"Mom already moved to PLC 7125 Main. She is in the memory care. It's small, kind of like a house, and there are only three other residents there. It's not like a big corporation that owns it. It's a couple and the husband's sister. So, they're more flexible and more personable. They get three meals a day and since my mom is extra hungry, she gets snacks. I have tried the meals and it was excellent. It is all home cooked. Some of it is frozen, but that's just kind of like how you would have it at your home (the things that you purchase that are frozen). They are not like a big corporation where they have a giant kitchen staff and they're ordering from kitchen supply places and the food is frozen and bad, they cook everything from scratch. They are more personal. They have a back deck that they go out on sometimes to have popsicles or to watch the ducks. They said they have a trail that goes back to the property and there's a vineyard and stuff, but they haven't been able to do anything like that since it's been so hot."

"Eskaton Granite Bay is a very nice facility. We toured for independent living. We ate there and their food was very good. They did not have activities going on at the time because it was meal time, but we talked with their activities director and saw some of the things that they do there. The person was very enthusiastic. The rooms we saw were a nice size, and everything was very clean and very updated."

"Country House is a brand new facility. It is really nice. They are all single rooms with single baths, no shared baths. Upstairs are the memory care patients, and down below are those who are still basically functioning, so they are not all lumped together like some facilities. It was excellent. The chef even came out and introduced himself. He was talking to all the residents after they had their meals; he went and talked to each one. It was a real friendly and open atmosphere. They were playing Bingo, and the other day when I talked to my mother, she said that they took her out to an art studio, and they had Hawaiian dancers come and perform for them the other day."

"I'm so grateful we found Friendly Care Home 2. Camelia and the staff are outstanding. Mom, who had dementia, and Dad, who had diabetes, were challenged in 2022 to find a home where they could be together and receive the care they each required. Each had a spacious private room to sleep in; however, during the day, they sat together in my dad's room with side-by-side recliners. The experienced staff met their needs with kindness and respect until their passing, making my parents feel comfortable and well-cared for. The same attention is given at mealtime. Each is thoughtfully prepared with fresh, nutritious ingredients to meet resident's needs. Fresh-baked bread was Dad's favorite! "I visited my friend at Sunrise of Fair Oaks and I had lunch in the dining hall with her. I liked that it smelled nice. The decorations and the furnishings were nice. Most of all, she really liked it. The staff was very friendly. We got to meet a lot of people, and they stopped to take time to talk to us. I liked that there was a choice for the food. The facility appeared very clean. It was very beautiful. It had a nice setting and nice landscaping with the trees, which I liked. There were lots of activities to choose from. They had exercises, bingo, movies, and puzzles. They had a library. They also had excursions where they could go do things away from the facility. I would recommend it because my friend likes it there, and to me, the biggest referral is when a resident says they like it."

"I am looking at choosing Blossom Vale Senior Living for my parents. It was an excellent place. Natalie was the one that toured us, and she was very good at her job. She could answer all the questions. And also, my in-laws are moving in there as well, so it worked out well. We went back with my in-laws and we had dinner there, and it was really good. We started with a studio. It was an extra large studio with a separate bedroom. So, that was nice. We saw the one-bedroom apartment and it was a very nice size, and then the two-bedroom was like a small apartment. It was very nice. They had the pull cords and they had small kitchens, but with everything in it. The courtyard was very pretty. The dining facility was very nice. They had a beauty salon, a theater, and a library. They had special events, like every Tuesday, they have Taco Tuesday and margaritas. It just makes it fun for the residents."
