"Oak Park Manor graciously accepted and cared for my uncle in his last days. The staff and owner exceeded all of our expectations in giving him compassionate individualized care. We were so impressed by the staffs ability to gain his trust and provide for all of his needs and wants including a private room. My family and I enthusiastically recommend this facility and all of its providers. "

"My friend went to a small facility called The Park Grove - San Luis Obispo. It was a 6-bed facility, and they were fantastic. Their assessment was excellent, and the care was above and beyond. It made her final days as comfortable as could possibly be made. A couple works there and runs the place, and I can't give them high enough regards. They were just so accommodating and so organized. They said if there was no news, it was good news, and if there was news, then they would text me. They had great communication skills and just fabulous. Everything about the facility was fantastic. They cook, and they do it all. They were just so dedicated. It made her transition as peaceful as possible. I went to four facilities in person and did a virtual tour of one, so a total of five, and Park Grove was the least expensive and had the most personal one-on-one care. I had such a good feeling from the owners that it was the best place for her that I could find."

"We toured The Village at Sydney Creek. They have full time nurses on staff all the time to give medications and any medical procedure that may be needed. They're very astute at what they do. It's very clean, and there's a maintenance person there all the time. I've tasted the food. It's like going to a restaurant, very well seasoned, and very balanced. They're one of the top facilities I've visited."

"The facility was clean and the meals were wonderful and on time. The staff was professional. The rooms offered variety as far as living conditions and they were well furnished. The doctors and nurses were available. The medications were given as ordered. The garden area was well kept. The television was not too loud or on too long. The activities were well planned. This is a place that I would not be worried about placing one of my own family members. They are very nice to visitors and willing to answer questions. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to down town, the hospital and shopping. The residents were well cared for in my opinion. I also liked the fact that it was not too large. This way it was not noisy and the residents were not overwhelming for the staff. They did not loose items that belonged to the residents. "

"Villa Care took wonderful care of my Mom for years until her passing at 105yrs. They work well with Doctors & other health agencies. My Mom level of care change since she had dementia, it was not a problem for them, very professional, & caring, patient & kind to my mother."

"Villa Care Home I was good and we didn't have any problems. The staff was very nice and pleasant. The dining room only had a kitchen table. It was average."

"I visited Vista Rosa for my friend. That is the cream of the crop, but it was also very expensive. They have the best activities. It was the Cadillac of senior living, and for the right person that also would be a fabulous place. For a single room it's $8,500- $9,000 a month. I was able to see things through the walkway inside and looked in the window to see the rooms. They had a very nice staff, first rate food, and pretty exceptional facilities. Right at the base of San Luis Mountain it is just impeccable in terms of location. It was like a five-star resort, if I could be so bold. Everybody in the staff of that establishment was just amazing."

"My mom was a resident at The Villages of San Luis Obispo. They were spectacular and we want to go back there. They were really attentive and very friendly and they had a lot of activities. It was a good landing spot. We all felt thankful that it existed. It had enough independence and enough group things to give my mom a variety of experiences. I could wish they had an art room but that's zero compared to everything else. My mom would like to have more interesting art stuff than what they do. They had regular music programs like singing, as well as people who come in to play the piano in the lobby, which a lot of people come by. There were a lot of people actively doing puzzles or watching movies. They had ways in which people could gather. There was exercise time, art activities, as well as fun social things with the lunch, and they had different little trips you could sign up for to drive out to see little side scenes. They also had private drivers you could get to take you places."

"Zeny's RCFE #1 is an end-of-life place and not a place you'd go if you're sound of mind or if you're social. The living space is very small, and it's like they bought a house from the 60s that hasn't been updated since. They haven't put money into the house other than to maintain what's already there. I'd never recommend it for anybody who still had their mobility or cognitive behavior. Everything was really small and dark. The folks who were already there were quiet in mind. The person who toured us around was very nice, generous with his time and answered our questions."

"I like Merrill Gardens at Santa Maria. It was equipped with everything. It was more like a home or an apartment. They had a single bedroom. It was a nice sized bedroom and a nice sized living room. The two-bedroom apartment had a larger refrigerator. It was bigger and very nice. I like the grounds. It's very clean. There were no odors or smells. They had a very large balcony that was enclosed. If you had animals, it was a great place for dog run. And you could put your furniture out on it. The staff members were very polite, positive, and informative. But they would recommend me to someone else to explain other things, like the pricing and how to financially handle things. They had a beauty salon and a movie theater with a large screen and individual chairs. They showed movies on certain days of the week, which was nice. They had a craft room. They had rooms which had a long table if you wanted to have guests over. The chefs there would cook the food for them. The menu was good. Everyone that I ran into seemed very happy to be there. It was laid out very well. It was a large place. The two-bedroom apartment had a washing machine and dryer in it, which I liked, but it was a small one. If you had larger loads, they had an area where you could go with larger machines and wash, like comforters. They are in the process of updating their decor, so keeping up with that, the price is kind of high too."

"My mother is at Hillview Residence. My friend's parents are there as well, so they're very good. Hopefully, she's gonna be short-term, so she can go back home. It's been family-owned for over 35 years and they're local. The owners live down the street from me and I didn't know that. The staff has been there long-term as well, and they're all very friendly, very detailed, precise, and caring. They have two dining rooms and they looked nice. Her room is nice. So far, so good. Everything looks nice and clean. They have activities every day during the week like music, crafts or bingo. She's only been there a couple of days. So far, everybody is very good. The facility is very nice. They have a very nice outdoor area. They're doing good so far."

"My mother-in-law lived at Magnolia and Primrose for 6 months before she passed and I have nothing but praise for the facility, the owners and especially the staff! They were all caring and loving individuals who provided great care, and grieved along with us when she passed away! "

"We went to AAA Kindness Care Home. It was fine, but I think it's out of our price range. I can't say anything negative about it. It was very nice. It was very clean. The people were very friendly. She did interact with the residents as we were walking around, as she was showing us things, and she explained everything. She answered all of our questions, and she showed us rooms, and everything seemed very nice. They do not have transportation services for the residents, so they don't go on any outings, which was one of the things that we liked about the other two places that we visited. It's very nicely arranged, it's very open. Most of the rooms have outdoor access so they can go out on their patio, which is nice. And the views are just amazing."

"Two months ago, my husband and I moved in at Southbay Maxi Care. It's a small facility but everything is pretty good. The staff are really fine and they seem to do their best. The food is not wonderful, but it's alright. One thing that we don't like it here though is that we're not allowed to cook. We have a common microwave in the facility which everyone uses to reheat food. "
