On first impression Anna's Gardens appeared an ideal place for my mother. She lived there almost three weeks. In that time I found her environment suitable. She did not like it at all. We were making arrangements to move her when she passed away. Sheppard Care Associates DBA Anna's Gardens were and have been fiscally irresponsible. They received the first month's payment for care, they collect the next month's payment on the 20th of each month. They were paid for the second month. When my mother passed part of March and the April payment needed to be refunded. To date, February 2016 only 26% has been received on the refund due.. Peter S. requested to make payments on the amount due. He would not allow his clients to owe him money, and yet he is lax in paying amounts due. I caution anyone thinking about using Anna's Gardens to be very careful if you get in a situation where you should receive a refund.

The facility was clean and the meals were wonderful and on time. The staff was professional. The rooms offered variety as far as living conditions and they were well furnished. The doctors and nurses were available. The medications were given as ordered. The garden area was well kept. The television was not too loud or on too long. The activities were well planned. This is a place that I would not be worried about placing one of my own family members. They are very nice to visitors and willing to answer questions. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to down town, the hospital and shopping. The residents were well cared for in my opinion. I also liked the fact that it was not too large. This way it was not noisy and the residents were not overwhelming for the staff. They did not loose items that belonged to the residents.
