"Golden Years Residential Home Care is very nice, and we're very happy with it. The place is clean, and the staff provides excellent help. I like the people who work there and the owner. My friend has a nice room with her own bathroom. There is a rose garden, a dining room, and a visiting lounge for families."

"We chose Iris Care Home for my stepdad because they only have eight people there. It's very nice and I'm impressed with the way it's set up. Somebody is right there and she does the house cleaning. The people who own it live upstairs and they hire nurses who are there during the day and on weekends. The rooms are a nice large bedroom, and the bathroom is just right outside the door. They have a big large entertainment room with a wide-screen TV and a large sectional couch. It's just like a regular living room, and not like a doctor's office or hospital waiting area. The food looked good the couple of times I was there during my stepdad's meal time. Their price is comparable and they cover more than what the other places would charge."

"My brother-in-law currently lives in Roseleaf in Oroville. The staff members I've dealt with have been really, really great and very attentive. We have no issues with anybody for sure. The grounds are gorgeous. The rooms are good. It's not a state-of-the art facility, but it's well kept up."

"I have an aunt at who lived here for about a year. She needed a lot of assistance physically and some behavioral issues. After we put her here they gave her extra activities and got her the physical therapy needed to gain back some indepednece and with that her attitude improved and she was happy at the facility. She made friends and enjoyed the home cooked meals. During Christmas and Thanksgiving the familys are invited to an amazing dinner. During Chritmas they also have gifts for all the residents under the tree. "

"The facility was a good one. It was clean and well kept. The people at the facility seemed happy. The facility had rooms for each of them, and they served food in the dining area. They kept it clean and made sure that each person there got what they need. The location was pretty good and pretty. It was pretty easy for us to get to the place as it was in town, and they let you come whenever you wanted to. My grandmother developed some good relationships with some of the men there. That was pretty amazing, since she wasn't the social type. The facility only took people who could live pretty well without specialized care, like they had to be able to take care of themselves pretty well, such as being able to eat, take their medication when reminded and eat at a table. Unfortunately, my grandmother started having trouble controlling her body, and she didn't have control of her bowels, so she had to leave. Overall it was a good facility. I've heard of some real horror stories about people staying in assisted living facilities. "

"My mother was cared for at Sunshine Cottage for almost 4 years. During her stay, the staff were caring and supportive to mom, as well as the family. The facility was decorated festively for each holiday season and the activities were engaging, for all levels of care. The food variety and quality were exceptional. The rooms were personal and any issues were addressed quickly. During this time staff became like our second family, were approachable to discuss any concerns and were amazing! Having almost 10 years of experience working in the field of elder care, I was very comfortable leaving mom in the care of Sunshine Cottage!"

"My mother went to live at The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek. We like it a lot. The congregate areas are always clean, neat, and well-kept. The staff is caring and responsive. My mom feels very safe. Her room is very cute. They're very flexible. It's got nice light. She just feels very comfortable there. The food is very good. I haven't seen anything that raises any concerns at all. She's lived there for a couple of months now. The food is not perfect, but it's good. They do a good job, and they cater to mom's preference. It's always very, very clean. Mom won't go out of her room and participate in anything right now, but it looks like they've got things going on. It was expensive, and it would be lovely if it wasn't this expensive."

"Almond Blossom East - 1 Budlee Court was very homey. It felt like someone's house with the big living room. I liked that there were only six residents. My mother would have been the sixth, if she had moved in. They all eat together at a round table. They had a big kitchen, a dining room, a living room, the bedrooms, and the bathrooms. It all looked really good. It looked very clean, and there was a nice outdoor area. They had the bathroom close to each bedroom. It looked really nice. The hallways were small, so there was not a lot of room for people with walkers and such. They said that they have activities. It seemed like they might have more staff to residents there. There were three or four staff members while I was there. It was a nice and new home. You had to bring your own furniture, which was difficult to me."

"So far, Panama House has been fine. It's a small community that only houses 6 people, and so far it's very good. The girls there are very friendly and doing their job like they're supposed to. My parents have a double room with their own restroom and shower. The menu looks fairly healthy, and they took my father out for a Father's Day barbeque."

"Willow Glen was excellent, the staff was great, and the coordinator that was coordinating Robert was fantastic. She kept on him, he had his routines everyday, and he has classes that he had to go to and so forth, and then she kept us informed. The dining was off the kitchen, and their living room was really huge. "

"We chose The Courtyard Assisted Living for my father. He moved there five months ago. The staff is very friendly and very helpful, they try to make it like not so much an institution, but very down to Earth and very keeping that human. It's very accessible and the rooms look like a very small apartment, so it looks more like a home instead of a hospital. So, very private, it makes it feel like it's their own space. He is in tier two, so he needs assistance in showering, and help with them taking him to his appointments. My dad seems to enjoy the food, he hasn't complained that he doesn't like it. The dining area looked homey. They had housekeeping come and help him clean his place once a week. So it seemed clean. They have some games and they can do some outings, group outings like going to the store, or the movies. They can watch TV together. And I think they have some arts and crafts activities."
