Holiday Desert Rose is very pretty. If you don't need assistance and you can do a lot of walking, that's a great place to be. But my mom has a walker so she's limited in her walking. There was a lot of long- distance walking there, and so it didn't work. The food was good, and it was a good selection, too. They had a lot of interesting dishes that were presented differently. The place was very pretty and very clean. My mom would still be there if she hadn't had her stroke. In that short period of time that she was there, they upgraded the dining facility and everything, so it's a very nice place. It's for senior living, not assisted living. They have lots of activities, too. My mom enjoyed the most was the activity with a balloon. It was like they're playing volleyball with it, so that kept them moving and laughing. The staff was helpful, courteous, and pleasant. There was just a little bit of delay in getting things done there. Regarding value for money, the rooms were more like apartments and so it made it feel like you had a home instead of just a room.

We toured Holiday Desert Rose. It was just a walk-in. We didn't have an appointment as they usually require that at that particular one. They were busy and so on. We just went down and saw one room. It was a one-bedroom. It's probably 600 square feet. It was ground level, and it had a patio. A lot of their rooms have balconies. Their units here would be my first choice basically, because they either have a patio or a balcony, and I like to be able to get out from the room. In terms of cleanliness and maintenance, we didn't see much, but everything seemed OK.

Holiday Desert Rose was nice. The tour itself was nice. The staff was great. I think it would have been a great place for independent living. People all looked happy. The staff showed us a one-bedroom apartment. It's near the dining hall, which was nice. I think they were going to replace the carpet, and it hadn't been cleaned yet, but other than that, it had a little fridge and a little sink. There's a nice bit of closet space and a little patio. When we walked through, some residents were playing some kind of game on the floor with the bean bag. And then they took us up to the second floor where a movie was going to be started, so there were some people there waiting for that. There were some people over at one corner playing some cards. When we got there, a bus was picking them up because they were taking them to different things.

We are on the waiting list at Holiday Desert Rose. We want a 2-bedroom, and there are none available at this time. I have a very dear friend living there also. I'm very familiar with what it's like, including the dining room, the activities, and everything. They did take me on a tour just recently, and everything was real nice. It looked really great. It is very warm and very bright. The rooms were all very light. They have good windows. I liked that it wasn't dark and gloomy. The manager went to the kitchen and brought me back a pie to take home, which was real nice. They have lots of activities, the library, the beauty salon, and exercise programs. They have a minister there on Sundays. On Wednesday evenings he does bible study, which is very nice. They have activities for making things, like decorations for Valentine's Day. The staff was very nice. I saw the residents playing a game in the lobby, and they have a television where they have movies.

I went to Holiday Desert Rose a couple of times, and that was my favorite place. And then I realized when I visited there the second time that they don't have any cooking facilities in the apartment. There's no stove, no range top, no oven, and I did not see a microwave. I loved the facility, it was just great looking. It had a lot of what we wanted, but I can't imagine living without a place to warm up a cup of coffee or have a little bit of soup for supper if I don't want to go down to the dining room. That's not acceptable for me and my husband. I loved the inside of the building. The dining area was in the center of the building. It had a huge sky-lighting space. There was a lovely little balcony that ran along the second floor where the residents could come out of their rooms. My daughter went with me, and we were seated in the dining room with a lady that lives there. And as we were eating, this man with just a beautiful voice, came out on the balcony and started singing. That just made me feel so good. I will say the food was nutritious and looked beautiful on the plate, but the vegetables were kind of wilted and didn't seem fresh.

Dad likes Holiday Desert Rose, but my wife and I preferred the other place more. It seemed a bit dated as far as their overall decor and appearance and everything. They seemed like they were stuck in the 90s. The dining room wasn't as nice as the other place. It seemed a little more cafeteria like. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave. They had an outside dog walking area.

Desert Rose was a very nice place. I enjoyed it. The director that toured me around was very good and very informative. She collected different fliers and brochures that helped me understand everything that was going on at the facility, what they covered, and what they could cover if it was needed. They had a salon and a lady comes in once a week to take care of everything for them. The apartments were very nice and very clean. There's lots of variety, and the facility looked well-kept and well organized.

We toured Desert Rose yesterday. They were very welcoming when they called and they understood our situation. They had ambassadors who greeted us. They provided a tour of the different rooms that we had requested to see, such as a studio and a one-bedroom, and they also showed us the salon, the gym, the library, and the theater. Once the tour was completed, we got to enjoy a very nice gourmet lunch. Everybody was just very nice.

I don't remember her name, but the staff that toured us at Desert Rose in Yuma was knowledgeable. She showed us 2 different apartments, the common rooms, and the outside areas. She identified the library, the chapel, and the activities that are available to the guests that are staying there. She just kind of showed us all around and the amenities and she did very well. It's an independent living and the place was very clean. They were redoing the floors so the floors are being updated. We noticed in the rooms, the ones that we saw, perhaps needed paint and countertops in the kitchen area and maybe some new carpeting. You could tell that it was older, but it was clean.

Desert Rose seemed like a very nice place to be. The seniors were having a lot of fun with their activities. The rooms were beautiful. The food looked delicious, even though we didn't taste it. The staff was just excellent, very caring, and very informative. It was kept perfectly because I always see someone cleaning. They had a swimming pool, which was nice, in an area around there. I don't know about the outside spaces except that a lot of the rooms had patios.

Desert Rose is very much independent living. If you needed any assisted living amenities, you had to contract with an agency that's on-site. It was a very clean environment. It's the largest of the facilities I went to. They have a very large dining room. We got a chance to look at a one-bedroom apartment. I was more interested in the two bedrooms, but we didn't get a chance to look at a room, and then the studio. It was a very nice environment. But I think the only downside to the place was the lack of integration between the room and board and the services, assisted services. The staff is very friendly, and I would say that the young lady that gave us the tour, Christine, wasn't her primary job, so she wasn't as polished as Marlina, who does that regularly.

I toured Desert Rose. I loved it. What I liked the most was the caring atmosphere, how they catered to the seniors, and how they have multiple activities throughout the day for them to choose from. I can go on and on. I love the location. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I just totally loved it. I plan to take back Dad for a visit to have lunch because he ended up knowing some friends that are there, so they invited him to come back, so we're going to go back and visit them, and maybe have lunch at that time. They were very, very hospitable. The place was spotless everywhere we went. We did visit two rooms, a one-bedroom, and a studio. They weren't even ready for renting out, but they weren't dirty, and they were still pretty nice. We also saw the activity rooms, and that all seemed very clean and nice. My dad loved the place so much that he asked me to cancel the other tour because if he's going to go anywhere, he's already decided it would be Desert Rose.

I toured Desert Rose for myself and my wife. I would say it's a very nice, economical, clean, and friendly facility. The staff was friendly. I looked at the studio and the 1-bedroom. They also have 2-bedrooms, and when you move in, you have new paint and a new carpet. They are pet-friendly, and I know they have group activities. They have a pool table, a piano, shuffleboard, a swimming pool, and a dog park.

My grandfather moved into Desert Rose. It has really nice people, and it's a really nice place. The rooms are nice. The people care a lot, and they're really polite. It's really clean and well kept. It's a nice community. It's a little pricey; all in all, it's worth it.

Desert Rose seems to be very nice. They have been very helpful so far. I met a couple of people who live there and they seem to be quite happy about it. We've eaten their food a couple of times that they have prepared for us and given to us to take out home. The food seems to be good. They have the standard amenities. They have a swimming pool. I haven't done any of it yet because I haven't moved in. I know they have scheduled shows, movies, and such in the afternoons. On a paper they gave me, they have exercises of different types and such. There were a couple of different pool tables. They have bingo, they play different kinds of card games in the evening, and they have a beauty salon. It seems like there is plenty to do. The staff members were very efficient and they gave me all the help that they could on the first day when I was having the tour. I have chosen a 2-bedroom-2-bath. It's 900-square feet. The facility appeared to be very nice.

I had a friend that I used to see in Desert Rose. I also helped her move in there a couple of years ago. The staff was very friendly. They had upstairs and downstairs, but they only had one stairway other than elevators. It was kind of a fire hazard I thought. They had some real nice rooms though. They had a little kitchenette, big closets, a small pool, and everybody had their own TV in their room. They also had room service. They have laundry facilities, if you want to do your own laundry. They have staff that came in and cleaned for you. When I first went there, I had a free meal. I sat at the table with the residents. It was a nice and friendly atmosphere. It has everything you need. I have nothing to complain about except when parking was a little hard. You can always park on the street if you have to. Residents who owned cars have their own parking too. There is also a bus that would take you to doctors' appointments or do a little shopping to have some of your food in your own apartment. They do provide a meal there, and I don't think anybody complained about the food. For a while, they only had trouble with their cook when he quit. They had a hard time getting somebody else, but that happens everywhere.

We went to visit Desert Rose in person. They were extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. It was a very clean establishment and the staff was very helpful. They showed us the dining area, the laundry facility, and the dog area, because you can have a dog. They also showed us three different rooms. It was a great tour. We didn't eat there but they had freshly baked cookies for us. It was an absolutely beautiful facility, it was very clean, and very welcoming, overall an outstanding place.

I was very impressed with Desert Rose. The lady was very nice and explained everything to me. I liked the cleanliness, the rooms, and the outlook of the place. The residents were gathering and talking when I was there. I was very well satisfied with what I've seen. They had a beautiful swimming pool and outdoor activities.

My mother moved into Desert Rose before she passed. My father moved in there and he has since passed away. The community was a 7 or 8 in a scale of 1 to 10. They treated my parents very fairly, but they had a turnover management. The place is clean, secure, and the food is okay. I ate there a couple of times and it was fine. The staff was very friendly, really went above and beyond, especially the folks that work in the Synergy, the care facility. Overall, the facility was good and it's decent. Some of their marketing practices, I've had some issue with, especially things that were said, but never came through. They really took care of my mother and my father. However, I think what's important to people is what is said by the people at management about contracts, when the money is given back to you, how it's given to you when they lock in the rate, it must be written down and agreed upon. Things were said to me by one individual, but when I went to the current manager, that no longer hold. So I would say, get things in writing, make sure what is said is understood, especially when it concerns elderly people, and there's a lot of money involved. However, I would recommend them to anybody.

I'm living in Desert Rose now. I have lived not far from here for about ten years, so there was a great deal of comfort as far as the living area. The entire place is clean and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly. The prices are excellent. I think the activities are more in line with women, but they seem to be popular.

We've been down to Desert Rose, and that was what we've decided on. It's an older unit, but very clean and well-maintained. I was satisfied with the rooms; they're roomy, and you have to supply your own furniture. They offered a little bit of everything, and I was satisfied. The food was fantastic, we ate 2 lunches at different times, and they were really good. The staff that we met was really nice and tried to take care of us. They had exercise rooms that were well equipped, and they had an outdoor pool. Everything we were looking for was there.

The rooms at Desert Rose were smaller. The layout was smaller and just seemed very crowded. The place was full, and they have a lot of people, but it just seemed crowded when we went on our tour. It was pretty hard to get in and out of the doors and stuff. Having a walker and a scooter, it was really hard for my dad. That is why we changed our mind. The other staff would smile when you walk pass them, but we did not have any interaction. They weren’t rude or anything; everyone was really nice. They have a bus to take people, an itinerary, and a lot of activities.

I live in Desert Rose. The place, grounds, and rooms are really nice. The people working there were really nice and knowledgeable. The location is fine. They offer three meals a day, and the food is very good. They have activities like bowling and checkers. They have some people come in to play music. I will recommend them to others.

Desert Rose was very good, and my mom liked it. The staff was good too, and there’s lots of rooms. The price was reasonable, location was very convenient, and the people were very nice. Security looked reasonable. Mom tasted the food, and it was good.

My dad moved in to Desert Rose. It is a very beautiful, bright, cheery, and friendly place. The dining area is very open and very welcoming. He likes the meals, and the food is excellent and prepared by a professional chef. They have activities, like exerise class, movies, and bingo. He has a fairly good-sized apartment.

My mother and father-in-law are in Desert Rose. It's a nice, clean place with a weight room, walking places, volleyball, and different kinds of card games, but she is not really into the activities. I think they will take them to doctors' appointments, but my mother and father-in-law have a car, so they are not dependent on anybody to take them yet. We have joined them for lunch, and the food is good. The staff are very attentive, wonderful, very friendly, and very helpful. They serve three meals a day, and I do not think there are snacks available, unless they are having an event, like dances in the evening.

My mother lived in Desert Rose for three months. The experience was good, but my mother had a stroke. I moved her out and she’s back in her home. The people who run Desert Rose were great. I had no complaints and the rooms were very nice.

I visited Desert Rose for my parents. I liked it. It was very friendly, very open, and bright. They had nice people, too. The rooms were very spacious and easy to get around inside. They have a small kitchen area but also have their own dining area for the people.

My mom is in Desert Rose. The staff works late hours and tries really hard. They ware very caring, and they quickly take care of day-to-day maintenance. She’s very comfortable there. She’s happy, still cooking, and making friends. The only thing that scares me is that they have three levels (my mother is on the third floor) -- it's a fairly big facility, but there is only one elevator. One day, the electricity went out. Many of the people have walkers and scooters, so they had to stay on the first floor. Also, there is no freight elevator. The elevator is a big issue for me.

Desert Rose was really good. The people were very nice, and they did what they said they would do for that kind of facility, but it was not the best place for my mother-in-law because she is having some psychological and emotional problems. She did not want to join people in the eating area. Nothing about the place was wrong. It was a really nice place. They had all kinds of activities, and they post them in the elevator and other places, so that people can know what is going on.

We had mom at Desert Rose. Their staff rotates so often that you can't really keep up with them. One group says one thing and the other says another. The interaction with the managers could be better. The rooms are really nice, and they have all kinds of activities like bingo. People come in to do some kind of things like crafts. It's a very busy community. The food needs to be improved as I have some pretty bad meals there.

Of all the places that I had visited, Desert Rose was number 1. They had an available room for me. The staff had been wonderful. They had all kinds of things going on every day some of which I had participated in. From what I saw during my visit, they seemed to be satisfactory.
