There are continuous in service trainings. Fall prevention, TB signs and symptoms, medication management are the mandatory trainings every year. We have staff participate in different trainings that our hospice partner offers.

During the day there are 2 caregivers and during the week the manager as well. At night, there is one caregiver.

We do not accept pets but we do have a house dog that all the residents enjoy - and she enjoys the attention!

There is a church that is at the end of the street, plenty of retail stores and restaurants all within a few miles.

We can assist residents to get transportation to appointments if their family members or POA is unable to do so.

We have a set menu that has been created by a dietitian, so all meals are nourishing and delicious. All meals can be adjusted to any diet restrictions or preferences. The menu changes every 12 weeks with the change of the seasons. We grow fresh lettuce and spices on our "veggie tree" that is so fun to watch it grow.

Brookhaven is located in a residential development and 1 block from every retail store or restaurant you could ever want to visit. The quiet of being off the main roads but so close to everything.

We keep in touch with all family members and give them updates - good and bad - at all times. We want them to know any progress so that they are engaged with their health and can also support us with any issues.

We have daily activities that stimulate their motor skills, sight and social interactions which gets everyone smiling and laughing.

Our caregivers, with having a low resident to caregiver ratio, have the ability to see and recognize even subtle changes. Our manager then evaluates the resident and determines if the house nurse or doctor needs to be called for possible health issues.

We have a gentleman that comes in and plays music and sings, we have daily activities of which the residents choose what they prefer. Morning social time at breakfast is a great way to gain deeper relationships with other residents. If a resident has a particular interest, we will do our best to accommodate their desires.

All room are ADA compliant, the bathrooms have grab bars for stability during transfers, shower chairs so that bathing is safe from falls, emergency pull alarms are in each bathroom, lanyard call bells are with every resident so that they can call for assistance no matter where they are in the home - or outside.

The front door has an automatic lock as well as manuel ones that are used when needed. The backyard is completely secure - only one gate and it is always locked.

We are always in communication with family members to let them know how they are doing or if there are any concerns with changes in speech, walking, eating, etc. With a home of only 8 residents, we are able to notice almost immediately of any changes. We are able to speak to doctors or family about any different care, maybe labs need to be ordered, change in meds. Getting a jump start on any treatment in invaluable to the residents health.

Our residents ages range from 74 to 91 and many are independent and love to socialize, play games, crafts, music, movies, puzzles and especially enjoy our beautiful, shaded backyard with walk path!
