I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Inappropriate company that only cares about what they can benefit from it. Multiple rude comments made about my family member, and un explained bruises and cuts on them even saw the rudeness/comments such as their weight and "why can't they just go to the bathroom on their own". They did not care what I had to say when I brought up to the administration and HR department, That such CNA that made the comment. All to find out about that such CNA was related to one of the administration/ supervisors. Such a poor decision to put our loved one with dementia in such a high praise facility to just be verbally and mentally abused and nothing done. Just sad about the whole situation. Really thought it would be a wonderful fit for my loved one but sadly all I seen was its like a bunch of popular highschool kids that only care if you are in the click or not.

The Lingenfelter Center is a memory unit and it seems like everybody is on the same page as far as caring about the residents. My wife is in a dual room with two people in it, which is different from any other place we've been. They just have a common area which they turned into a dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a community room where they have activities. They also have an outdoor patio that you can go out and walk on and it's gated in. It's very nice when it's cooler. I've seen the meals that they feed and it looks very good. However, we've been there three times and there was no activity at all and it's the most expensive one we've ever been to.

What they don't tell you at admission: Your family member will not be placed onto their prescribed diet. So, say if they are diabetic they will get to eat brownies, fruit loops, cake, etc. Same goes for cardiac or any other medical prescribed diet. Another thing you are not told at the time of admissions is that your family member WILL be seeing the facilities part time physician- No choice! That physician you and your family member whom you have built a trusting relationship with- forget about them! The facilities physician will not include you or your family in any decision (except psych). This even includes meds. The physician took my mother off one of her needed meds just 2 days after admission even though it took years for physicians and I to get the right combo of meds and diet to control my mother's diabetes. Another note on this physician: you can not meet with him/her! I asked and was told that I might be able to see one of their "residents". So, in summary... once you place your family member here, you No longer have a say about their Care. Just keep that in mind.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband has been a resident at The Lingenfelter since January 2019. He has Parkinsons and dementia. Several other facilities could not provide the level of care he needed. I have been pleased with the support and care from staff and feel they take an interest in each resident. They offer activities and provide encouragement and support to assist him with his meals. The nurses are always willing to answer any questions about his care and it has been very helpful to be able to have Skype video calls during these difficult times when I am unable to visit. I'm grateful for the level of care he receives at TLC and feel confident he is being well cared for.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our loved one has been a resident of The Lingenfelter Center since late 2015 following several severe acute medical issues. During this time, we have been appreciative of the care, assistance, patience and communications from both the administrative and frontline staff. Over the years our loved one has had several ups and downs due to her chronic medical conditions and we have found the staff pays close attention to the daily changes of residents and reacts in the most caring and compassionate ways with the best interests of the resident in mind. We especially appreciate that frontline staff has an excellent handle on the uniqueness and individual needs of each resident and takes that into consideration during their care. We have found the facility to be clean and well maintained. The food is well prepared and presented in a manner that is appropriate for the abilities and desires of the individual resident. Additionally, assistance is provided at mealtime as necessary so that all residents are fully able to enjoy the mealtime offerings. Of special note are the staff’s desire to engage the residents in daily activities; calendars are posted, games are played, activities are presented, outings away from the facility are completed, therapy animals are brought in, local vocal and instrument groups are presented, etc. Their always seems to be something going on. We feel fortunate that The Lingenfelter Center and their loving staff have become our partner in caring for a member of our family.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I visit my great grandmother at least once a week at The Lingenfelter Center. She was moved over there from another facility due to a bad fall she took and needed more care than the first facility could provide. The person at the front desk is always pleasant and always greets my family and I with a smile. The nursing aides are usually always friendly; however, we have had two that were just not as friendly as they should have been but for the most part, everyone else is genuinely nice and welcoming. My grandmother says they all treat her very well so that makes me happy. My family and I are allowed to sit in the dining room with her during mealtime and even offer to let us eat with her. Although most of the time we don't accept, there have been a few occasions when we do to make my grandma happy. Although she cannot do much in the form of exercise, my grandma is always happy to go out back because the facility keeps it very nicely landscaped. It has a great view of the highway that always seems to get my grandma talking about her younger days and when her and my grandfather used to travel. The care center does an excellent job keeping an eye on their residents and never really seems to neglect any needs. Overall, I think the service this facility provides makes my grandma as happy as she possible can be.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Both my parents were residents at this facility. My father passed away a little over a month ago. They were in 2 separate units because they had different symptoms. My father had a tendency to get hostile later in the day with sundowners symptoms. This facility has a chapel and coffee shop on the main fkoor. The nurses made sure my parents had lunch together nearly every day, and were able to spend afternoons togeher at least 3 days a week. They were treated as if their marriage and being together was of utmost importance to the facility. When my father started failing, thr nurses from both units, made sure my mother understood and allowed her to stay with my father until he passed. They were treated with dignity, respect and compassion. The facility itself is clean, uncluttered and easy to navigate through the different units. They are always making physical improvements to the property, yet it never affects the visitors or residents daily use. The admi staff is supportive and compassionate. They are easy to reach by phone or in person and always available. The nursing staff is phenomonal. Each resident is treated like family. There is no impatience, no indifference that we experienced in previous facilities. My parents, and I, became part of a family at the Lingenfelter. I highly recommend this facility.
