"Our experience with Abramson Center for Jewish Life is excellent. My mother-in-law seems happy there. She says they're treating her well. We have good communication with them. We have conferences, so they let us know how she's doing. We have Facetimes with her since we can't see her in person right now. It's very, very good."

"My wife is in Inglis House, and it's excellent. Overall, it's pretty good, she's been there a lot of years, and knows a lot of the people, and a lot of the residents are like extended family for us. I spend a lot of time there and a lot of time with the residents there."

"My 82 MIL has some dementia, mobility issues. She gets very bored at home. We started sending her here once a week-she loves it! now she goes two days and it’s the highlight of her week! seeing her friends, having lunch, playing games. She did not want to go at first, now she would go every day! It’s been a real joy to see her find pleasure in her life again. The staff is very caring, so sweet, and fun! Definitely recommend this place for your loved one. "

"Wow - Talk about impressive. I've been to three adult day cares over the past week. FINALLY, I think I've found the right one. I knew it the minute I walked in the door. The staff is amazing. They have a really tough job yet they seemed to really be enjoying themselves while entertaining and caring for their guests. The facility is nice, big and bright -- which is very important. The location is great and they offer transportation which is very helpful. Patty and Bonnie were so welcoming and helpful that I knew this is where my dad should be. Thanks for all your help and support through this really rough process!! "

The mission of Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. is to create partnerships and services that respond to the needs of those who are poor in the North Philadelphia community, especially women, children, and persons with special needs. The Sisters of Mercy have worked in partnership with the working poor of the Tioga-Nicetown community for more than 40 years. As a result, they have developed relationships across generations that have been manifested in the work of our ministry. Since its incorporation in 2003, MNM has remained a beacon of progress for children, adults, and the elderly in North Philadelphia. In 2005, MNM purchased an abandoned warehouse that opened in 2009 as the Mercy Family Center - the first green building constructed in North Philadelphia and now one of 42 silver level certified buildings in the City of Philadelphia. Mercy caters to needs of the senior community by offering a safe, caring, and stimulating environment: a comprehensive program that uniquely integrates social interaction, creative activities, personal care, and nursing services. Based on our experience and the evidence of health and medical providers, Adult Day Care is “the least expensive and most desired form of Elder Care,” in that seniors can age in place in their own homes while receiving the necessary services allowing them to live their last years with the dignity they deserve. (NADSA study comparing all Long Term Living options) Who can participate? Any adult age 60 and older can participate in our adult day program. Also eligible for adult day services are those experiencing difficulty with daily activities due to health problems and/or disability. What do we offer? Personal care plan Nursing services Social services Socialization and community Health and wellness activities Computer activities Music and crafts Recreational and cultural enrichment Delicious, healthy meals Necessary assistance to continue living independently in their own homes or with a family member High quality care by caring professionals Services that improve and enhance quality of life Sense of belonging and community Joy and peace of mind Mercy Neighborhood Ministries offers compassionate, loving care. From the moment you arrive, until it’s time to go home, you will receive plenty of attention, respect and a healthy dose of fun! According to the Pennsylvania HealthCare Association, the median annual cost for a private room in a Pennsylvania nursing home is $99,280. Being able to age in place, attend Adult Day Care, and avoid placement in skilled nursing facilities has saved our current participants at least 85 years of nursing facility costs, which would be approximately $8, 840, 880.00 over 5 years. In June, 2014, at the annual Adult Day licensing visit by the Dept. of Aging, Bureau of Quality Assurance, the licensing representative commended the Center for good fire safety training, procedures and nursing assessments, observations and goals which incorporate personal care issues which go above and beyond the expected regulations, helping to ensure the most current information is provided to caregivers about the participants. "My wife was in the hospital recently, and after that, they sent her to The Community at Rockhill for rehab. She was there for about two weeks. The people were very pleasant. They took very good care of her. They showed us two different apartments while we were there, but I felt that it would be too expensive, although they said that if you run out of money, you can still stay there. However, I had to put up a couple of hundred thousand dollars just to get into the place. To get my wife in there, they put her in a room with another woman. I couldn't even have a chair to sit in because there's no space for it. I sat on the bed the whole time that I was there, and I'd visit her from 10:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night, except for when I ate. By the time I got out of there, I had a very stiff back. There was no room to put a chair without blocking the doorway. It was small. It was very clean. They came in every day and they cleaned the room. They made the bed. They furnished her with a chair to sit in. It was a lounge chair that could tilt forward, so she didn't have a hard time standing up. Every time she had to do something, they came into the room. If she had to go into the bathroom, they took her into the bathroom. The meals were good, especially the soups. My wife loved it. The staff was very good. On the weekends, they got outside help, and they usually were good, but they had one woman come in who only lasted one night after my wife reported the things she did. Other than that, the service was good all the time. They had a lot of activities there, but we were in a rehab center, so all the activities I saw were people sitting in chairs, and I think they bowled. They were enjoying themselves. They had an art class where they painted a figurine."

"Senior Care Warminster is taking good care of my wife. She gets lunch from them. The amenities appeared to be adequate and varied. They have sing-along, Bingo games, exercises, and lunches. They appeared to be doing a reasonable job, and the staff is professional and very friendly. They appeared to be very accommodating, attempt to please you in whatever manner they can, do a good job in assembling folks who seem to get together even though they don't know each other, and spend pleasant days together. The place is also very clean. "

"Immaculate Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare was very clean and looked very respectful, probably because of its religious aspect of it. The rooms seemed nice and the people were nice. The rooms had a hospital-like feel to them because they had linoleum floors, but it was a good size and very clean. A lot of residents were going around doing something. I saw their physical therapy and it was very nice. They also had a very nice chapel."

"I got in late to Senior Care, so I didn’t see everything. They changed over to a new person, and he was there only 2 weeks. They were very flexible in the schedule, and they provide transportation to the facility. I thought the cost was reasonable. They even offered to go with me and do an assessment for me. "
