A very dear friend of mine, spent her last weeks at Forbes Hospice and I was able to visit with her and her family, almost daily. When i saw the dedication and care that she receive, I knew, then and there that this is what I wish, for myself, when my time is near. I am 84 years of age; have seen loved ones with "in-home-hospice care" and "in hospital, hospice care". None rival Forbes for the best care of the patient, nor the help to the family, involved. I want to find out how i can be assured of this excellent care, when my life is ending. God bless!

I HELPED CARED FOR MY GRANDMOTHER, WHO HAD END STAGE ALZHEIMER AND DEMENTIA, WHILE SHE LIVED IN MY MOTHER'S HOME FOR 4 YEARS. THREE OF THOSE YEARS SHE WAS ON HOSPICE. i GOT TO KNOW THE DOCTOR, NURSES, AIDS AND COUNSELORS, AND THEY GOT TO KNOW MY FAMILY AND I AS WELL. THEY WERE ALWAYS KIND, PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING. THEY SHOWED TRUE COMPASSION FOR MY GRANDMOTHER. MY GRANDMOTHER, ALMA WATTERS, PASSED AWAY 7/1/12. MY FAMILY AND I ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE EXCELLENT CARE THAT WAS PROVIDED FOR HER. THEIR MEDICAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT HELPED MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR MY MOTHER AND I TO CARE FOR MY GRANDMOTHER IN THE COMFORT OF MY MOTHER'S HOME. A SPECIAL THANKS TO LISA (RN), ANGEL (CNA), AND DR. This is the BEST hospice in Pittsburgh. They provide Respite Care. A care giver will go to the dying patient's home to give the family a break from the 24/7 care of their loved one. They are extremely caring people. It is also the first hospice established in 1979!
